A french countryside style bakery serving only the freshest pastries and cakes right to your door.
La Conversation Bakery has been part of the Los Angeles community since it first made a home in Los Feliz. After 18 years in our small Hillhurst cafe we made the move to West Hollywood where we proudly lived on the corner of Doheny Dr. and Nemo for 30 Years.
As we feel the loss of our beautiful space we are happy to have the opportunity to bring a bit of France into your home.

This delightful cafe bakes pastries and breads, rich chocolate cakes, cookies and tartlettes. Breakfast is when La Conversation really shines, as neighbors pop in for french toast made with their fresh cinnamon-almond cream brioche,… Read Full Editorial

I don't like the name of this restaurant but the food is truly good-great for a lunch, location is strange but come for the food.

Kitschy, Cool French hideaway by kiercemartin via Citysearch on 7/22/2008

My girlfriend and I stopped in La Conversation on a whim for Sunday brunch, and we were both pleasantly surprised. We lucked out with an open table in the corner, as several others were still waiting on tables to open up. We had great…

Solid Standby by brainylany via Citysearch on 4/16/2008

La Conversation is a great place to go if you have all day to dedicate to breakfast. \r The food is rich, the prices are average for the area, and the wait staff is slow but accommodating. \r Be prepared to wait for a table and hunt for…

Owners treat guests like family! by decob via Citysearch on 12/10/2007

I used to live down the street from La Conversation on Dohney. I miss the family-like attitude of the restaurant. Although I would only go there once a week, the entire staff knew my name and were always interested in what I was doing. …

La Conversation is a joy to eat at. The food is really good and the atmosphere is wonderful. I had a wonderful warm feeling the minute I walked in. The service was good and the owners make you feel special. It is also a good who's who…

DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS PLACE by thefabulousmoolah via Citysearch on 8/25/2007

I went to La Conversation yesterday to get a cup of coffee and a muffin to go. I walked in, said hello , how are you to the guy behind the counter. I asked to have the half and half on the side so that I could put it in my own coffee. He…

Absolutely unbelieveably bad. by pleasesaymyname via Citysearch on 8/25/2007

I've been there twice. The first time I went I was treated rudely by the OWNER of all people (he rolled his eyes and snapped at me when I requested my dressing on the side- how is that a big deal??) and the second time the owner wasn't…

Good Food, Terrible Service by paulywalnut via Citysearch on 6/15/2007

A charming little neighboorhood place for breakfast and lunch. Pretty good food, but the servers must be getting stoned every morning because they are all so slow, often forget things and just have no sense of urgency in taking care of…

One of the best breakfast places in LA! by drmmrboy22 via Citysearch on 9/14/2006

You will absolutely love the breakfasts here. They give you sweet pastries before your meal, freshly baked, and perfectly sweet. The coffee is wonderful (it's so hard to find good coffee anywhere.) Everything is perfect. I only had one…

Great Incentive to Get out of Bed by Lu via Citysearch on 7/31/2002

This place is a great place for people who miss Paris. And Hollywood breakfasters. I love the pastries. They are made from authentic French and Italian recipes that the owner acquired through living there and learning from old pros. …
