The Scene
On a dingy stretch of Western Avenue next to Empty Bottle, Bite Cafe is surprisingly charming and cozy. Exposed brick walls are decorated with art; the hipster youth who hang here look like they may have painted it. The… Read Full Editorial

Good, but some honest reservations... by Mike923 via Citysearch on 1/1/2009
This place has great food, priced reasonably well, but they need to focus on improving the overall service and cleanliness.
BYOB done right. by Metherfor via Citysearch on 7/24/2008
Just dined there last night. Met the owner, "front of the house-turned-back of the house-turned-owner" kinda guy... The food is amazing, honestly...Simple but flavorful, everthing fits...start with the summer salad...the secret is fresh…

The food does not make up for bad service and an nasty upkeeping by ijlove via Citysearch on 8/1/2007
I visited Bite this sunday after a friend and I were looking for somewhere new to go that also served meat and vegetarian dishes since i'm a vegetarian. My first impression from outside the windows was that it was a very artsy kind of…
THEY?LL TAKE MORE THAN A BITE... by dballen2 via Citysearch on 1/10/2007
I had brunch at Bite this past Sunday. I paid for the meal with my Check Card. The meal cost around $50 for four of us. When I checked my account the next day, there were 3 charges on my account pending for $50. I called Bite and was told…
EXCELLENT FOOD! by jjjanjan via Citysearch on 7/19/2006
I've been here several times over the past few years, with the girls or with the beau, always excellent. The chefs specials keep things new and exciting. I've never had a bad entree here. Prices are great. BYOB is the best. Bathroom could…
Brunch spot by Ayesha K. via Judy's Book on 5/26/2006
This is a very nice cafe and one of my favorite brunch spots. I like it because it has a very artsy and cool decor. You will find many interesting paintings all around this place. The cafe is small and the menu is pretty much your basic…
Decent food, slow pace by melkat 4. via Judy's Book on 3/18/2006
I've eaten here a number of times, and the food is pretty consistently good. They usually have a pretty interesting brunch selection, and I like that they offer a variety of food options, including vegetarian, healthy and comfort food. My…
Hipsters...everywhere...still, I'm starved. by Rebecca L. via Judy's Book on 1/28/2006
Seriously, which babies in the hospital got told that they were better than all the other babies, or at least that they could put forth this flipant attitude towards the rest of the world? A hipster is born, and I get ignored. Super.…
The best Eggs Benedict in the city! by kitkat76 via Citysearch on 7/17/2005
Bite Cafe has fulfilled two of my three requirements for a good place to eat, great food at a reasonable cost. Although, their unique menu can more than compensate for lack of service, I have found that service in general is key. The…
Ukranian Village Belly-Padding by Emerson D via Insider Pages on 6/6/2005
My girlfriend lives across the street, and we often end up here when we don't make other dinner plans. I never tire of the burrito, but occasionally I'll pass on it for the falafel plate or the veggie burger, which are of similar high…

great specials by pixeleater via Citysearch on 2/24/2003
get the specials, they're always good. the service is relaxed, but it's usually worth the wait, since the food is really good and cheap. their soups are great too... i wish they'd deliver, i want bite right now and am too lazy to leave…
Good with Every Bite! by crazykitty via Citysearch on 6/3/2002
I went to Bite within a week of its opening and it was just as amazing then as it is today. I became addicted to their take on breakfast and still think it's better than it's over-rated, often-crowded competitors.
