Need 4 used tires in decent condition. Lombard Auto Wreckers are close to home. Every time I called during weekday hours (multiple times on 7/24, 25, 26) I got a "mailbox full" message. They post Sat. hours: 8-2, so I drove over. 10, 11, 12, 1 - Not Open. Called today to check for tires. A man answered, "Lombard." I asked if I had the auto wreckers. The guy loudly barked "Yeah" in an aggravated tone. I said I needed used tires, and before I could give size/quantity, he interrupted me with an impatient sigh. "Size?" I told him. "How many ya want?" I said, "Four". "Got 2." When I asked the price, he growled, "40 bucks - Each." I'd had 3 other used tire places quote me $40 each to remove/dispose of my old tires and install/balance (70-80% tread life) used tires with new valve stems. (I didn't tell him, though.) If these were almost new tires, with more tread life, they'd be worth it, so I asked the age. He screamed, "Lady, how the hell do I know the freakin' age!?" I said, "The 4-digit DOT number on every tire tells the month/year the tire was made. Why are you being SO rude to a potential customer?" He said, "Kiss my a** you stupid b-" I hung up before he could finish the sentence. I'm still in shock that this place is in business. Other review sites had similar/worse customer input about this place. I thought they had to be fake reviews. Nope. If I could give them a "0-star" rating, I would.
