The Poultry Hatchery also known to many as A&J Farms Domani Ranch offers over 200 different breeds of Day Old Bantams, Chicks, Ducks, Turkeys, Guineas, Geese, Pheasants and Poultry Supplies. We are a family owned and operated Christian Faith based business with morals and the attitude of “As God Indented”. The Poultry Hatchery is based in upstate New York, in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region and amongst many wineries. Our customers order poultry for many different reasons such as self-sustainability, egg production (Rural, Urban, and Commercial) and even those that participate in 4-H programs (Showing Poultry), FFA, or just the Backyard Chicken Enthusiast.

At The Poultry Hatchery we take humane treatment and handling of our animals very seriously above everything else. Our Poultry breeding stock is treated with the utmost respect and care to ensure we give back the gifts they give us. Our Bantams, Chukar, Chickens, Ducks, Geese, Guineas, Turkeys, Pheasants enjoy a clean spacious living conditions with viable outdoor access for natural grazing with clean water and non-gmo all natural feed. We do not limit our poultry breeding stock in row buildings or breeding cages and restrict their movement to ensure that all our animals enjoy a happy life. Over the years of our methods we have noticed that humanely raised and grown wither for food, eggs or pets they taste better, live healthier, and give more abundantly.

At The Poultry Hatchery we believe that prevention is the best medicine. We do not utilize any chemicals by injecting and/or ingesting by food or water. We find that clean living conditions and preventative procedures that we have set forth nearly eliminate the need for man-made substances. Not only does the human body benefit from eating and raising chemical-free foods, your poultry does too! All of our Game Birds, Poultry and Waterfowl are fed an all-natural, non-GMO feed. Rest assured all of our crops and pastures our birds graze on are never sprayed with any fertilizes, herbicides, fungicides, or pesticides; there is a natural way to treat a problem and prevention is for starters. If you are experiencing an issue with your poultry; ask us for a solution and if we don’t have one, we’ll help you find one. FACT: Individuals exposed to conventional farming chemicals have increased risks of brain and other cancers such as leukemia, nervous and immune system damage, liver and kidney damage, reproductive impairment, and distribution of the endocrine (hormonal) system.

According to Wikipedia, "a genetically modified organism (GMO) is an organism whose genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering techniques. These techniques, generally known as recombinant DNA technology, use DNA molecules from different sources, which are combined into one molecule to create a new set of genes. This DNA is then transferred into an organism, giving it modified or novel genes. Genetic modification involves the insertion or deletion of genes. When genes are inserted, they usually come from a different species, which is a form of horizontal gene transfer. To do this it requires attaching the genes to a virus or just physically inserting the extra DNA into the nucleus of the intended host with a very small syringe, or with very small particles fired from a gene gun. The viruses typically used to complete this transfer are E.Coli and Samonella.”

Why these viruses? These viruses are used because they are the only ones that can penetrate the cell wall to allow for modification that wouldn't generally happen in nature. Some of the so-called benefits of genetically modified foods is that they are resistance to disease, pests and chemical compounds. This sounds good in theory but the repercussions of this scientific engineering is a fruit that will no longer produces after its own kind and before long will not produce at all. The effort to make plants resistant to Round-Up and a few bug bites is food that will no longer reproduce. GMO foods are essentially sterilization of nature. If we consume nature it could be assumed we would be subject to the same outcome. A general rule of thumb to live by: If the bugs try eat it then it's safe, but if they don't then it's probably not!

In every effort to preserve our poultry, the food they provide and our health; The Poultry Hatchery vows to feed only non-GMO, and all naturally grown grain to our breeding stock, which is passed into your Day Old Chicks, Game Birds and Waterfowl. By feeding quality feed; we can achieve optimum health of our animals and ourselves. We follow many of the “Organic” Practices without the costly label and increased prices of our Day Old Poultry. We strongly believe there is no way to be truly organic unless you tent your entire farm and vegetation, raise your own bee’s for pollination, create your own water and oxygen and replace the soil amongst many other things to be truly organic. At The Poultry Hatchery we have trust between our customers and morals of preserving our poultry to be as organic as possible.

Many might assume that we disregard our male chicks and unwanted or unsold chicks and dispose of them in inhumane ways. We do not and we will never! We hatch according to our sales, we do not over breed at The Poultry Hatchery. We believe that we should take care and watch over what God has given us not kill it because it’s a male chick or we over hatched. Our males and unsold chicks are raised on our 300+ acre farm or donated to selected farms where they are raised for meat and donated to local food pantries and churches. These local farms must meet or exceeds the same expectations of humane raising we employ at The Poultry Hatchery.
