Great staff! by Altenwerth Kent on 10/13/2020

This burger is amazing. Had beef burger and fries. The taste/composition reminded me of a mix of In-and-Out and Five Guys, but with even fresher ingredients. Felt modern, COIVD safe, and the staff was helpful and quick. The sauces for the fries were DELICIOUS. Great location, and one I will return to many times.

Love this place! by Lillian Rooney on 10/13/2020

Great service. Wish they had a few tables on the sidewalk so you can eat there. I got the Party in my Plants burger single and the funions half fries half onion rings. The burger was good I think they should maybe toast the bun a little more so it doesn't get so soggy so fast. Street parking.

Eisenberg's Sandwich Shop may have only a tiny kitchen, but it is a big contender in the world of Reuben sandwiches, matzoh ball soup and---its tour de force---tuna salad. The tuna is so good it outshines all of the traditional deli… Read Full Editorial

Came because of Anthony Bourdain by TardyKat via Citysearch on 2/24/2010

Came here because I watched an episode of No Reservations where Anthony Bourdain ordered a ilme rickey. And that's what I had too. I thought it was suppose to taste like lime plus carbonation and other fruit juice, but it just tasted…

Wow. Vegetarian at this deli? Yes! by gyrlapple2 via Citysearch on 3/23/2009

This really is surprising. I love chopped liver and the vegetarian versions I've had in the past are so *not* even close. Well, it's here. I can't believe it! Go grab it before they're out - I heard it's going to be a trial or a temp…

Furry dust encrusted residue on the balsamic dispenser by PotatoLatke via Citysearch on 12/30/2008

So we just had lunch here and it was so bad, I felt like I needed to take time out to create an account and write about my experience. Im a native New Yorker and I eat out all the time. A group of tourists were sitting near us and we…

Eisenberg Sandwich Shop by Cynthia L via Insider Pages on 11/19/2008

While gallery browsing on a recent trip to NYC, a former photography professor of mine (and a Manhattan resident), recommended this sandwich shop for a bite to eat. Diner food at its finest! It's old, kinda grungy, and charming, too. They…

Best Pastrami Sandwhich in NYC! by funitalian67 via Citysearch on 6/20/2008

After reading the reviews, I decided to visit Eisenberg's, as I was craving a pastrami sandwich. Well.....this was the best pastrami sandwich I ever had, and I have been to most of the so-called "pastrami palaces". It wasn't too lean,…

They're good at what they do. by parkhyein via Menuism on 6/14/2007

Pipin' Hot Coffee by toddderrick via Citysearch on 4/3/2006

My first visit to Eisenberg's won't be the last. I joined a couple of friends on a Monday morning before the start of a crazy work week and enjoyed pipin' hot coffee and an awesome toasted bacon-egg-cheese bagel. It's a complete throwback…

Excellent chopped liver & Matzoh ball soup by corsica via Citysearch on 2/25/2006

As a native New Yorker who now lives in Los Angeles (oy vey), every time I come home this place is a must-stop. They seem to have new management, because the quality of the food has greatly improved since my last visit. They now…

NOT WORTH IT by ALee via Citysearch on 1/5/2006

I went on recommedations that they have great sandwiches and even ordered the tuna melt, which Eisenburg raves to be the best. The sandwish was tasteless, below average. For the taste I could have gone to a regular deli and gotten it for…

The Most Bang for the Buck by no1mommy925 via Citysearch on 9/8/2005

Pull up a seat and have a Ruben, Pastrami, or Tuna. The best sandwich shop and can be beat. The melts can't be beat and the countermen are unbelievable. Have an old fashion egg cream, but don't forget to make them use the fountain soda.…

Mmm, Pastrami by edinel via Citysearch on 9/1/2005

I was in town from San Francisco, and found myself staring at the storefront. I just wish you could get pastrami like that in SF.

A slice of old New York, with a killer tuna salad. by Contributor via Citysearch on 9/8/2004

This minute, no-frills lunch counter has, through decades of Manhattan metamorphosis, gone from being a place where you got tuna sandwiches to a landmark destination. And why not? Where else in New York can you get a lime rickey, an egg…

Best place in NYC. Period by graham_campbell via Citysearch on 11/4/2002

Eisenberg's is the throwback to the 40's and 50's, right in midtown. This landmark, which consistently doles out excellent tuna melts and pastrami cannot be beat. They only have a few tables, but those in the know eat at the counter. I…
