Amy Blumberg LCSW BCD

Amy Blumberg, LCSW, BCD is a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work. She received her Masters in Social Work from Columbia University. After working as a social worker and raising three children, she completed a four year post-graduate training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy from the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy in NYC and two year training from the Center for the Study of Anorexia & Bulimia in NYC where she was on the senior staff of both institutes. She graduated from NY Society of Ericksonian Psychotherapy. She is also trained in EMDR which is a method of treatment effective in treating sufferers of trauma and other conditions. She has been in private practice since 1977, working with adults and adolescents and treating individuals, couples and families in long and short term counseling. She has an integrated approach, combining cognitive, psychodynamic and interpersonal psychotherapy. She treats a range of emotional disorders, Including: Depressions, Anxiety, panic, relationship issues, separation/divorce, eating disorders, sexual and physical abuse, gay/lesbian issues, co-dependency/ACOA and job related issues. Most insurances accepted & sliding scale available. Day & evening hours.
