Vegan Japanese by Ryan Y on 12/27/2008 via Insider Pages

I'm not vegan. I just like good food. I was interested to see how the words good, vegan, and japanese go together. I got my answer: pricey, long wait, and very creatively. The food here is unique and if you're a meat lover then you're…

Worst meal of my life by JerryB123 on 8/11/2008 via Citysearch

Although I'm not a vegetarian, I love a great veggie meal. My experience at Cha-Ya, however, was quite simply the most disappointing food experience of my life. The vegetables were overcooked, limp, and flavorless. The noodle dish was…

Best. Restaurant. Ever. by Dani N. on 6/11/2006 via Judy's Book

I love you, Cha-Ya. Your Moon Garden is beautiful. I can't stop eating it. Your plating is gorgeous on every single item, from sushi like leafy vases to soups served in fancy little pots. Your menu is vegan and everything on it is…

It's JUST Great! by city_traveler on 12/14/2005 via Citysearch

It's the best Japanese Vegetarian restaurant out there as far as I know. It's a must-eat whenever my friends/family and I go to Bayarea. The line is usually long (one hour or longer); you might want to get there around 5pm or 9pm to avoid…

Very relaxed setting, quick, cheap, and most important wonderful food. Cha Ya is very small and therefore is not good for parties of five or more. It is easy to find, close to BART, and worth way more than what is paid.

Light and lovely by delphinegray on 10/9/2004 via Citysearch

If you enjoy light servings and think of the dishes, bowls, cups and tea pots as a significant part of an enjoyable eating experience, you will love this little shop. Their soups are wonderful.

Great Vegan Food!! by gazzzzzelle on 7/10/2004 via Citysearch

This is a great little restaurant with super fresh inexpensive vegetarian food. The restaurant is tiny and at times very crowded so service can be slow, but the food is definitely worth the wait.
