Maung Myo Htut, M.D. is a hematologist and multiple myeloma specialist for City of Hope Duarte and an associate professor in the Department of Hematology & Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation. As an expert in hematology oncology, he is determined to find more effective treatments for myeloma, a rare blood cancer. Dr. Htut believes the body's own immune system may hold the key. He's especially excited about the potential of CAR T cells - immune cells taken from the patient, re-engineered to destroy cancer, then re-introduced.
