I used D and J towing through AAA last week. The dispatch lady was very nice and to my knowledge, until today, everything had gone smoothly. I got a call from my mechanic today stating that during the tow, the shifter solenoid had been broken which meant in that car, I would have to replace the entire thing, not just the solenoid. This happens when the shifter is forcefully manipulated in to a different gear while parked and is HUGELY common with towing apparently. So, following my call and discussion with my mechanic, I called D and J to see if we could come to some sort of mutual reconciliation. HUGE mistake. I explained the issue to the apparent manager/owner who supposedly is the one who towed my car. After a decently long conversation, he told me that I needed to stop being such a bitch and that it wasn’t his fault I drove a piece of shit car (definitely isn’t a piece of shit) and that he wouldn’t be helping me because I’m a dumb girl and don’t know anything about vehicles. So, following this incredibly pleasant discussion, I called AAA who says they have had previous complaints of this nature with their company and filed a claim on my behalf. I did some more digging and found multiple other reviews of this nature. We will be keeping the parts that have been ruined by D and J and I will have signed statements as well. Needless to say, I DO NOT recommend them in any way shape or form. Please don’t be foolish and use this one.
