Acupuncture- Acupuncture has been practiced for more than 5000 years! In Traditional Chinese Medicine our bodies have pathways of energy called Qi that control all of our essential life functions. When our Qi is insufficient or unbalanced disease results. Acupuncture uses small needles inserted into the skin to control the flow of Qi along these pathways and rebalance the body. It is used to treat a variety of disease and conditions. Some of our more common conditions treated include osteoarthritis, acute and chronic pain, gastrointestinal problems, and neurologic disease. Food therapy- Food therapy is the art and science of using food ingredients to feed each animal based upon their inborn tendencies, age, species, geographical location, personality and their current disease process. Food therapy can be used to help manage skin diseases, cancer, osteoarthritis, and many other disease processes. "Let medicine be your food and food be your medicine."-Hippocrates Herbal therapy- Herbal therapy uses the theory of Yin and Yang and Five Elements to select herbal formulations to treat imbalances in the body. It is often combined with acupuncture. It is an individualized form of therapy. For example, two dogs with the same disease may require different formulations based on each individuals underlying pattern.
