Four Marlins takes its name from a famous 1935 photograph of Ernest Hemingway on a dock posing with his wife Pauline, his three sons – Patrick, John, and Gregory, and four large marlin they caught sport fishing. The scene captures Hemingway at the height of his love-affair with big-game fishing, a passion that helped shape classics like “The Old Man and the Sea” and his enduring fishing essays. The iconic shot often serves as shorthand for his identity as both a literary giant and legendary sport fisherman. Four Marlins is a contemporary expression of Hemingway’s passion of the sea. It brings that spirit to the shoreline – a contemporary tribute to the sea’s bounty, its energy and its endless horizons.
