She decided to stay close to home as she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Master’s degree in Animal Science at Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, GA. She went on to complete medical school at Mercer University in Macon, GA. She trained as an Internal Medicine resident at Wellstar Kennestone in Marietta, GA.
