Cedar Summerstock Theater

Cedar Summerstock Theater features a core company of college theater performance and tech theater majors collaborating together, connecting to the community, and working with industry professionals. College performers and crew receive free room and board and a $1,000 stipend upon completion of the season.

Our season consists of four musical productions and two cabaret style events. All four musicals are staged at the Cedar River Complex in Krapek Family Fine Arts Center located in Osage, IA. Osage is located on Highway 218 in north central Iowa, two hours from Minneapolis/St. Paul and Des Moines, and two and a half hours from Iowa City.

The cast, crew, and artistic staff will be housed in local homes in Osage or St. Ansgar, 10 miles NW of Osage. Rehearsals and production facilities are at South Square, a former elementary school in St. Ansgar. Daily meals are also served at South Square.



For summer fun, there are indoor and outdoor pools, canoeing, kayaking, bike trails, and a 9-hole golf course conveniently located near the housing and performance facilities.
