Bari was opened in 1973 to serve the Italian neighborhood of Grand Avenue by Joseph and Grace Pedota who emigrated from the town of Bitritto near Bari, Italy . Offering great service and quality items at reasonable prices made Bari a success from the beginning. Now operated by sons, Frank and Ralph, Bari has evolved as our customer base has expanded. Always known for our highly acclaimed subs and homemade Italian and Barese sausages, we have added new favorites from family recipes such as fresh made sauces, prepared dishes, homemade giardiniera, and fresh made pesto. We still offer old fashioned Italian grocery store items such as imported cheeses, prosciutto, salamis, olive oils ,vinegar, pastas and more. If you need that special cut of veal, lamb, beef, pork or your own special mix for meatballs, we can provide that too. So let us help you in our friendly old neighborhood atmosphere.

I have to be honest here, I love the IDEA of Bari, an old time place which still is family owned but you people are delusional. The line (okay 5 people whoa!) took twenty minutes to get a cold cut sandwich with pre sliced meat and…

Magnifico Bari by HeyNowLDT via Citysearch on 7/7/2008

I am lucky enough to live across the street from Bari. That explains why I eat it on average of three times a week. I love their Italian subs, but I also like getting the meat from their butcher shop. The bread is from D'Amato's Bakery…

The subs are great and made right in front of you. The bread, meat, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes are always fresh. My favorite is the italian followed closely by the corned beef sub.

The best Italian Sub by malexan via Citysearch on 1/28/2007

The best Italian sub i have ever had was here at Bari. The only sub that comes close was one in Revere MA but that closed. The 9 inch is plenty and i swear the foot long is more like 16 inches. Sometimes the wait can be long during…
