Poor attitude in Norridge No customer allegiance/ KARMA by Luann C on 1/22/2026
out of 5 starsWaited my turn behind 2 other customers, noticed cashier trying to alert Manager on duty JEFF, that she needed something, he ignored her as he was talking to two other employees, one coming on duty one going home. It was 4:10 and she packed up her register and left me standing there with my purchases on the conveyer belt. In her defense, he was ignoring her request for assistance. It appeared she has been in this situation before and was "like, Oh well, I gotta go" may I add Marge is a much older women and probably with aching feet. I went directly to him to ring me out and expressed my dissatisfaction (at the courtesy desk). He turns around and yells at her, I told him, he was at fault as a manager for not having proper coverage, his attitude was disingenuin as he scowled saying OHH I GUESS ITS MY FAULT. Not I'm sorry for your inconvenience, I'll talk to her. Sorry we are short staffed today. SOMETHING!!!!!!!! his attitude was dismissive and condescending. JEFF a mature man is not managerial material. 1-21-26, 16:09:00#9309 Another incident was brief with the store Manager Bill, advised him of a product with no expiration dates at all Think they were Milagro corn tostada, had to return them because they were rancid . All that was said after a dead pan stare was OK with a shrug of his shoulders.

out of 5 starsShopping today at Naperville store. I was very disturbed there were minimal cleaning supplies for hands or carts. There was no hand sanitizer at checkouts. In this time I feel this is totally unacceptable.

Mouse Poop on your bread with bites out of packaging of bread by ddrakesville on 12/13/2020
out of 5 starsUNACCEPTABLE on all counts. I wrote this note to you in a review on your website and have heard nothing from you. I was in your Norridge store and there was mouse poop and bites out of the bread packaging in your lobby display. Shame on you, the health department should be contacted.
Employees not wearing masks properly by desireerahman on 9/16/2020
out of 5 stars2 employees in the Naperville store were wearing their masks with their noses hanging out. I didn't say anything because - well, what's the point. I've seen this there before. I only go there because it's so convenient - not because of the great employee attitudes.
mask wearing by organizeinc on 6/27/2020
out of 5 starsjust got off the phone with two Genoa Butera employees (one the store manager) and they really seemed like I was bothering them with my complaint about people not wearing masks. As I told the manager, I spend about $250 every two weeks but not any more, no masks, non of my money is going to your store. talk about being wimps, make a stand and have everyone admire your store for doing the right thing, see ya later, plenty of stores I can shop at on the way home from work. I always try to shop local but if you cant enforce a state mandate, I guess you dont need my money.....so long suckers
No enforcement of customers wearing masks during coronavirus. by morris.bill on 5/31/2020
out of 5 starsWe are long time and loyal Butera (Grayslake) customers, but were surprised this evening when a customer was not wearing a mask in the store and when we asked her to put one on she said it was it the car and she didn't want to bother. There was a second customer who didn't have a mask either. All your employees and all other customers were wearing masks and respecting each other's safety. Apparently, it is store policy not to enforce the mask policy. This is simply wrong. It puts your employees and customers at risk and is not a difficult policy to enforce. Many stores will make a customer without a mask leave or purchase a mask and wear it. We have shopped at Butera in Grayslake since it opened and like the store and employees, but because we are in an at risk group (over 65 and I have a pre-existing health condition and will have to stop shopping at Butera unless you require other customers wear masks.

Not afraid to give name Chris Hehr7 month expired product by amanda_dechenne on 6/24/2019
out of 5 starsPurchased ice cream that expired in December of 2018. How is that product still on the shelves? I almost served that to my children and they could have gotten extremely sick. I called the store in Roselle and spoke to Rosario, by far the rudest person I have even talked to. Couldn’t even finish my sentence before I was interrupted and was told no one was there and that they close in 5 min. When I tried to explain that issue was was rushed off the phone and told to call back. She didn’t even care what I had to say and then hung up. Extremely disappointing and what’ve contacted the health department
Cashier Hillary #107 by ledzeppelin56 on 6/28/2018
out of 5 starsI wish to let you know that the cashier #107 should be given an accommodation as she went above and beyond for me today. I wanted to get the grocery shopping done before the weather became too hot/humid. I went to check out. For some blasted reason my bank debit card refused to work. Used another card. I came up short by $5. I was going through to see what I had to give back. (Food stamps don't come in til Sunday). Hillary literally paid for my groceries with some type of store card. I couldn't believe this. I was so astonished that I just about burst into tears. I saw the customer service representative explained what Hillary had done. It looked like she was also ready to burst into tears. I can not thank Hillary #107 enough for allowing me to bring my groceries home. Hillary #107 gave me a reason to believe in human kindness again. Thank you.
