Dawson’s Services is a family owned auto shop with more than 20 years in the automotive industry. We pride ourselves on great customer relations, and the ability to turn out quality work in a reasonable time frame. We are a moderately-priced shop that uses high-quality parts for all repairs. We offer a full range of diagnostic services on all Foreign and Domestic vehicles (gas, diesel, and hybrids). Some of the services we provide are engine replacements, transmission replacements, brakes, tune-ups, suspension, front end, rear differential, electrical, and all other related auto issues. My name is Tim Dawson owner of Dawson’s Services. I grew up in Saint Paul, MN, where I started in the auto industry by watching my father at a very young age. I then took advanced auto mechanic classes in high school. After graduation in 1991, I went into the Army and Army Reserves, where I was a diesel technician for 8 years. While in the reserves, I worked for Tires Plus as a mechanic. They specialized in tires, front ends, suspension, brakes, and alignments. I stopped working for them because they wanted the mechanics to sell more work than what was needed. I felt that if I worked for myself, I could run a shop that would treat people fairly and be able to offer my customers a reasonable price. So I started TD Auto, where I had a successful business for the past 15 years. I never had to do any advertising for TD Auto because I lived by one rule that my father taught me: “If you treat a person fairly, they will tell one or two people. But if you treat that person wrong, they will tell the world.” In July of 2011, I closed TD Auto to move to Markham, IL, where I opened up Dawson's Auto Services. We even offer a drop-off and pick up service. Giving you that added convenience for your busy workday. One of the most important aspects of our auto shop is the cleanliness & organization. out of 5 starsI had my vehicle towed to Dawson's Auto Services because it died out on me. Only to find out that the engine was locked up!!!! Tim did the research and discovered that there was a recall on the engine and arranged for it to be taken back to the dealership to be repaired for free. Tim's honesty saved me over $4,000 in repairs.
After the engine was repaired by the dealership, I my vehicle back to Tim to repair a headlight and brakes. He did a great job and his prices are very reasonable.
