    Students will increase their fine motor skills cutting out the heart shape. Teachers will introduce how to say "heart" in ASL, Spanish, and Polish!

    Students will complete a science project using two different colored eggs. Students will incorporate the scientific method and come to the conclusion that we are all the same on the inside, even if our outsides look different.

    Stethoscopes will be added to our dramatic play centers so students can listen to their own heartbeats! How sweet! Students will listen to their hearts before and after gross motor play!

    Teachers will read "Hear Your Heart" by Paul Showers. It is a book explaining how the human heart works. Then, play doh will be available for students to use to make a 3D Model.

    Students will sing the song "weather watcher" during their morning meeting. Students will take turns identifying the weather outside this month.

    Yesterday was Dr. Seuss' birthday! We will celebrate by reading our favorite Dr. Seuss books and having green eggs and ham for afternoon snack!

    Blue watercolor, eye droppers, and cotton balls will be added to our creative art center. Work stations will be propped up to an incline. Students are encouraged to observe the watercolor run down the paper like rain would!

    We will turn of our lights for part of the morning. Compact discs and flashlights will be added to the science center. Students will be encouraged to try and reflect a rainbow onto the classroom walls using their given materials.

March 7, 2019

    Teachers and students will prepare various amounts of water and place them outside on the playground. Students will make predictions on what they think will happen to each amount. Students will monitor which amounts have frozen over the elapsed time.

    Water will be added to the sensory table. Also, cups that teachers have put hole in the bottom of so students can "make it rain" in the sensory table!

    Teachers will ask students, "What would you do if you found a pot of gold?" Teachers will help dictate their responses and various art materials will be available for students to illustrate their response.

    Wear your green to school! It is all about the color green! Students will work on mixing colors to make green, say "green" in French and Polish, and listen to the band Green Day while they work through their interest centers!

    Teachers will read the story, "Rain" by Trace Taylor and Gina Zorzi. This book shows real life photos of people and things in the rain. Students will be asked "What is your favorite thing to do in the rain?"

    Students will be encouraged to make a list of the things they need if it is raining outside.

    Students will take feathers and pieces of paper outside with them. They will throw the items into the air in hopes that the wind takes it away! Students will observe how the wind makes the objects travel.

    Students will draw circles on a piece of paper. They will then be given eye droppers and encouraged to guess how many water droplets it will take to fill their circle with water.

    Each students will be given a straw and a pom pom. Students will be encouraged to use the straw and blow the pom pom across the table. Students will have to have control of their breath to make sure the pom pom doesn't fall off the table.

    Students will be given five different sized shamrocks and encouraged to sequence them by size from smallest to largest.

    Tempura paint bowls will be added to the creative art center and students will be encouraged to mix the colors to make new colors!

    Teachers and students will set up five colored cups of water. They will add a long piece of paper towel and put a little bit of the paper towel in each colored cup. Students will observe how the water travels through the paper towel to make a rainbow

    Students will be introduced to the acronym Roy G. Biv. This acronym stands for all the colors in the rainbow!
