Asheville Pet Supply was opened in June of 1991 with just one store front in its present location. Mary and Bob Hourihan moved the mountains of Asheville to enjoy the county life. Mary always had a houseful of animals and thought it would be cheaper to own the store than to buy all their food. Being in retail is a family tradition she enjoyed from childhood. Her father Louis Dunlap owned the General Store in Elk Park, NC in the 1950
