Carolina Paving of Hickory, Inc. began in 1964 under the name Carolina Landscaping. Eddie L. Huffman started Carolina Landscaping with one partner, one truck and one tractor. The sole purpose of the business at that time was to landscape residential lawns. The company did not begin its paving operations until 1972. Carolina Landscaping was incorporated in 1977, and was renamed Carolina Landscaping and Paving Company, Inc. Under the new name, the company relocated to our present location, 3203 Highland Avenue, NE, Hickory in 1978. In 1985, E. Dane Huffman, son of the owner and founder Eddie L. Huffman, became Vice President and remains so to this day.
