In 2011, BoCo began offering specialty coffee to the NoDa/Villa Heights District of Charlotte, North Carolina. From the beginning, we have been captivated with the entire process of creating the best cup of coffee - from acquiring the finest organic and sustainably and ethically sourced coffee beans available, to offering hand roasted, fresh coffee every day. We work hand-in-hand to develop better coffee by choosing beans that are harvested ethically using Direct Trade. From the grower to the roaster, we have perfected the method of roasting coffee in small batches which allows us to concentrate on the specific flavor profile for each varietal and origin. We strive to preserve the integrity of the bean's flavor and the farmer's hard work and it is evident in each cup. We balance the use of artisanal craftsmanship with science to identify the unique characteristics and optimum flavor of our coffee beans. Those same methods are translated to roasting production to maintain quality and consistency. Through the years we have perfected this process to bring you the perfect cup of coffee, every time. Want to learn more? There is nothing we love more than talking about coffee! That is why we have chosen to open the roastery to the public to encourage education and meet our team. Staff Training is integral to the success of any coffee program. BoCo provides staff training from the basics of coffee brewing using Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) standards and practices to more advanced espresso training based on World Barista Championship (WBC) standards.
