Adam Coe, MD is a native of Abingdon and grew up on a family farm, where he learned early on about the cycle of life. Born with a health condition, Dr. Coe was no stranger to the healthcare field. His experience as a child ultimately led him to pursue a career in medicine. The dedicated care he received as a child sparked his passion for medicine, motivating him to offer the same compassionate care that had inspired him. Gastroenterology is the specialty of medicine that provides care for diseases affecting the gastrointestinal tract, from the mouth to the anus, namely the esophagus, stomach, small intestine and large intestine (colon), liver, gallbladder, and pancreas.
