Phoenicia Bakery and Deli carries foods from around the world with an emphasis on Mediterranean specialties. If you like variety in your choice of lunch spots then check out our Menu. We bake our own breads and pastries daily--like pitas and baklava. Imported cheeses, olives, and olive oil are other favorites of our devoted customers. And because many of our customers come from overseas or lived overseas for many years, we carry a selection of hard to find groceries just for them. This Middle Eastern deli remains unrivaled in Austin for its native specialties, pastries and sandwiches.

Austin's one-stop shopping for Mediterranean food by Susan M on 1/13/2010 via Insider Pages

THE place in Austin for pita, hummus, olives and other Mediterranean delights. Everyone in my family LOVES Phoenicia bakery, including the ones who drive in from Houston every once in a while, just to pick up some of their offerings.

It's a little gritty but the staff is friendly and the food is good. Service is very fast though it's sometimes hard to park at lunch time. There are a couple places to sit outside which is nice. Dessert is excellent.

miserable customer service!!!!! by kerbeyl on 6/14/2007 via Citysearch

I really want to say good things about Phoencia because to food is tastey and exotic but the service there is soooooo poor that I can't allow myself to shop there or recommend it. I'm not alone, it seems like everyone I know has a story…

Horrible Service by franceebrown on 11/21/2006 via Citysearch

I went in here and nobody said a word to me. I didn't get a hello or even a how may I help you. The pastries look old and uninviting. I will never go into this place again. It is not up to par at all. I hope the one on Burnet is better.
