I visited the museum several years ago. Learned something new - President Johnson was responsible for helping several thousand refugees escape WWII Europe- many of them Jewish. Never knew this about him. His Austin museum should include…

It is worth your time to go!!! by Flapper on 2/9/2010 via Citysearch
I've lived in the Houston area for 22 yrs and I have been to just about every museum, attraction, site etc, but quite frankly I was a little concerned that the holocaust museum would be sad and depressing! IT was very much the opposite!…
must go. by Jennifer C. on 11/29/2005 via Judy's Book
This is a Museum that everybody should go to at some point. They go deeply into this horrible time in history and it is very upsetting, as it should be. You will most likely come out of this thinking a bit differently and learning a lot of…

Very nice monument to the holocaust by Cathy M on 11/2/2005 via Insider Pages
The exterior museum design was perfect in shape. The inside was a very nice tribute to those who were victims of the holocaust. There was not a dry eye among those in my group. It explained a lot of the history and delved into parts of…
wonderful, touching and free by amanda m. on 9/9/2005 via Judy's Book
The title says it all. The Holocaust Museum is a wonderful trip to see, learn and be touched by history. Best of all it is free. Both parents and kids could learn more here in a day than any history book could possibly teach. …
Great to learn about History. by Henry B. on 8/20/2005 via Judy's Book
When your kid reaches the 10th grade and takes history you can take them to the Holocaust Museum. You can learn so much just by reading captions and looking at artifacts. It's a fun and interesting way. The admission fee is moderate and…

A Must-Visit by Sabrina E on 6/23/2005 via Insider Pages
This is not a place you should go if you want to have a happy-go-lucky weekend. It is a somber and sad place commemorating the horror of the holocaust. However, it is something very important and worth a visit, at least. It has a small…

Although the staff were not rude, they were not altogether helpful either. They asked us to "keep it down". They should advise their patrons to not bring children under a certain age, or recommend an appropriate age group. By the way, our…
Excellent learning experience by bduelm on 8/25/2002 via Citysearch
This is is an excellent learning experience for the entire family. We waited until my children were 10 & 12. Even if you have studied the Holocaust, you will see and hear new and often unexpected aspects of the tragedy.
