Daniel C. Gonzales-Luna, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in orthopedic trauma with an emphasis on severe musculoskeletal injuries of the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, ankle, and foot, as well as fracture nonunion and malunion. He has significant experience in hip and knee replacement surgery for degenerative and post-traumatic arthritis. He’s also an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. Gonzales-Luna is a native Houstonian and completed his medical degree at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, where he graduated top of his class. He also completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at McGovern Medical School. He then completed his fellowship in orthopedic trauma at the Reno Orthopedic Center. His fellowship training included additional dedicated training in arthroplasty and pediatric trauma. Gonzales-Luna is an active member of many professional societies, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Orthopedic Trauma Association. Outside of work, he enjoys playing and following sports and is a proud husband and father.
