I was born and raised in Germany, where I earned my medical degree at Ruprecht-Karls-Universita¨t in Heidelberg. I completed my residency in Internal Medicine and my fellowship in Cardiology at Westfa¨lische Wilhelms-Universita¨t in Mu¨nster, and a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Gazes Cardiac Research Institute, Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, South Carolina.After moving to the U.S. with my family in 2005, I completed a second residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at University of Vermont Medical Center. I am certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with specialties in internal medicine, cardiology and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. I am also certified by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology with a specialty in nuclear cardiology and the National Board of Echocardiography with a specialty in adult echocardiography.I implant pacemakers and implantable cardioverter/defibrillators (ICDs) at Central Vermont Medical Center. I also perform outpatient electrophysiology studies, including catheter ablation, for Central Vermont Medical Center patients at University of Vermont Medical Center.
