Programs
When it comes to getting and keeping a job, many people need help. Imagine having a disability and no real work experience. Think about what it must be like trying to leave welfare with no marketable job skills. Where would you go for help?
At Goodwill, we help those people every day. That means teaching those with limited vision to use adaptive technology so they can successfully operate a computer. It means building supported employment programs that connect those with developmental disabilities to solid work opportunities. It means bringing jobs to people who are home bound through online training programs. It means teaching English skills, and job search skills, to those trying to enter the workforce. Most importantly, it means helping people build pride and independence through work.
