John Villanueva, MD, FAAPMR, is an exceptional physician practicing in Burbank of Southern California, and serves the greater Los Angeles area. An Ivy League-educated physician, Dr. Villanueva earned his undergraduate degree with honors from Cornell University in New York. He followed this by receiving his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School, during which he received the William Knobloch Merit Scholarship and the David E. Rogers Research Fellowship from the New York Academy of Medicine. Dr. Villanueva completed his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency training at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, and his fellowship in pain management at the Department of Anesthesiology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.
Dr. Villanueva specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain, a challenging field that requires considerable expertise in neuromusculoskeletal function and the subtleties of the pain experience. He believes that masking chronic pain does little to benefit patients long-term, and he makes every effort to discover the root causes of their condition so he can provide treatments that help heal as well as relieve his patients’ symptoms. Dr. Villanueva also makes use of the most advanced forms of technology and the latest scientific evidence to ensure his patients receive an unrivaled standard of treatment.
