In Short
The games played on the 22 waxed lanes are still scored by hand. No fancy computerized boards here--it's all manual. On any given night, you'll find serious metalheads, local teens and coiffed gals bearing fully inked… Read Full Editorial

If you're a serious bowler looking for a modern place to bowl, this isn't the place. However, if you're looking for some good old recreational fun, you may find it here. Along with the lanes, there's a huge stage for karaoke and an…

Decent bowling on the cheap by cmccaugh via Citysearch on 2/3/2009

I've been to All Star Lanes once, on a Friday night in January. I'm giving them four stars because the quality of the place is a good match with the price you pay.\r \r Even though it was a Friday night, we didn't have to wait for a lane.…

Fun All American Bowling Experience. by Newtotown9 via Citysearch on 10/17/2008

I just had my birthday bash at the All Star. We all had a great time. The facilities were clean, well maintained and the staff was SUPER nice. It wasn't too noisy or loud. Was easy to enjoy!!!!

SPARE YOURSELF...STAY AWAY!! by puckaroo via Citysearch on 2/26/2008

My friends and I went to All Star Lanes last Thursday or some bowling and beer. The first thing that STRIKES you when you walk in, is how empty the place is. There were literally only 3 lanes being used when we came in. We joked that it…

Good times, coming back slowly.... by sckid via Citysearch on 10/17/2007

Cool place to hang out and have a good time and be melow (different from the usual club scene)....Everything is very reasonably priced and staff are friendly. It looks like they are still working on this venue and giving it upgrades…

Bowl Somewhere Else! by friendlyskies via Citysearch on 8/16/2006

A large group of friends and I went to All Star Lanes and spent more time asking for someone to help to fix problems with our lanes, than we did bowling. The staff was extrememly dismissive and rude. The place used to be great, but it's…

Run Down Dump by bobbobarino via Citysearch on 8/16/2006

People in LA assume that if something is filthy and poorly operated that it's "kitchy" or "classic". Worse yet, they refer to it as a slice of "Americana".\r \r Folks, sometimes a dump is just a dump.\r \r This place is so poorly…

The New All Star Lane is faaaantastic! by david_wla via Citysearch on 2/17/2006

The place has gone under a complete remodel. The Lanes are upgraded along with automatic scoring. The bar has been remodeled as well. The drinks are cheap (compare to rest of LA!) and atmosphere is great. I highly recomd it.

A good old fashioned bowling alley by Kimberly D via Insider Pages on 11/30/2005

This was one of my favorite bowling alleys. It has an old fashioned look to it, because not much of it has been updated, but It's a comfortable place to hang out and bowl. It's resonably priced to bowl and the drinks are not too…

pretty good by Mathew M via Insider Pages on 11/15/2005

This bowling lane is right next to my college (occidental) and even though it doesn't look the nicest, it definately makes up for it in price. I first went there for a Korean Student Association (I'm japanese by the way, but we're just…

Bowling, karaoke and more by Jane K via Insider Pages on 9/21/2005

Great place to go and hang out with friends. You can bowl, drink, have a bite to eat, and even go sing if you want to. Prices are reasonable and atmosphere is very lively and energetic. Fun place to be and pass time.

its coming back by nathan l. via Judy's Book on 8/9/2005

Located in the heart of Eagle Rock on Eagle Rock Blvd, its one of the oldest places still standing. It's a pretty good place with restored bowling lanes, they are sprucing it up to digital displays and looks like will be getting new balls…

Great old-school bowling alley by fiestascramble via Citysearch on 3/11/2005

Although they recently refurbished the lanes and added automated scoring monitors (you used to have to score your own card), All-Star Lanes is still full of old-school character. It's a great spot for birthday parties; after bowling a…

Good time, cheap beer by jdawg via Citysearch on 1/27/2003

Went to All-Star on Friday night and had a blast. You won't find a cheaper place to bowl or cheaper beers in Los Angeles. Yes, you must score the game yourself, but it is worth it. My friends and I plan on going back again soon. If you…

Come for the bowling, stay for the food! by Kayotae via Citysearch on 8/17/2002

I've been a regular at All Star Lanes for almost two years now. It's hard to find some "old fashioned" bowling anymore. It's all about automatic scoring and artificial lanes now, but if you want a blast from the past, to score your own…

How Fun. by dawnmariesmith via Citysearch on 5/23/2002

My friends and I met here for happy hour bowling one night. We had a blast. The cocktail waitress was attentive and kept the drinks flowing. It seems to be a really popular place since it was totally packed all night.

Americana at its Best by taradelis_citysearch via Citysearch on 5/21/2002

A friend of mine swears the All Star Lanes lie at the very heart of Americana. Sometimes I have to agree, like at their Friday night karaoke. It's fun to watch because most people really aren't the best singers, which is a refreshing…
