It's always the same friendly faces working behind the tall counter at Yellow Submarine--the same people who have been making their signature Boston-style stuffed subs on toasted bread for decades. They don't write down your order because… Read Full Editorial

cheesesteak by Darren L via Insider Pages on 3/20/2010

I've eaten here years ago and recently saw that they were featured on Check Please Bay Area so I thought it deserved another try. The past visits I actually enjoyed the sandwiches but it could be that I didn't have other places to compare…

great sandwich shop by Casey W via Insider Pages on 8/13/2009

They have the best hot pastrami sandwich's here. The service is a little slow at time, but it is worth the wait. people are friendly and there is not much of a seating area it's a little pricey, but worth it.

SF Local Favorite for Submarine sandwiches by sf_native_since_1990 via Citysearch on 1/6/2008

Jan 2008. When I moved to SF in 1990 a local native introduced me to Yellow Submarine and has become one of my favorite places to eat. I really appreciate the exceptionally large ?Medium? submarine sandwiches and have never been able to…

Best Sub Sandwiches Ever by nighttripper via Citysearch on 7/12/2006

Great sandwiches by gizmo3852 via Citysearch on 7/12/2006

I have been eating at this place since I was in high school, which is more than a decade. The sandwiches taste great and the service is good and the prices are just right.

Best subs in SF by docweaver via Citysearch on 6/30/2006

Since my high school days working in a sub shop, I've always appreciated and cherished a good sub. This place fits the bill. At other local places, their subs can seem like an afterthought, but here the stuff is top knotch. Ask for…

Good Food by lzeitsoff via Citysearch on 3/3/2006

The sandwiches are good, tasty and inexpensive. I have eaten here for many years. Try the Pepper Steak Sub. The portions have remained the same. The Turkey is much better than before.

Great Sandwhiches but.... by icee429 via Citysearch on 1/3/2006

I love coming to this place because they make great toasted sandwhiches. The only thing that I wish they would do is stop being so cheap on the meat. I remember coming to this place about 5 years ago. The sandwhiches use to be bigger, and…

Favorite Sandwich Shop by dietcoke88 via Citysearch on 10/10/2005

I can't comment on 95% of the sandwich choices on the menu but, the steak and cheese sandwichs are the BEST. Pair one with the thick fresh fried potato chips and my belly is soooo happy! Ask for extra hot/spicy on the sandwiches... …
