This was our first time here and 100% will be back. We had 2 entrees and 2 beers and total was only $40. Pretty reasonable in Los Angeles. The cheeseburger was cooked perfectly as I requested, flavorful and did not have left overs.

This was my second time here. First time many many years ago. So the atmosphere was different. You order through the bar area and seat yourself in the patio now (CoVid style). It was a perfect sunny day so we loved it. The menu for a cheeseburger (no fries) was quite pricey. I don’t know if this is because of CoVid or it’s always been this way but I probably would only go back with a friend if they choose to. I wouldn’t pick the place. The bartenders didn’t seem to thrilled to have customers. It wasn’t welcoming. But I’m sure she was having a bad day.

Almost any night of the week, you'll find locals packing the tables and aisles of this neighborhood gem after work and long into the noisy evening. The decor includes flooring reclaimed from a 1920's industrial warehouse, luminous Edison… Read Full Editorial

Great beers on tap. Outdoor seating. by harpreeta via Citysearch on 7/5/2012

Great beers on tap. Outdoor seating.

Never Not Good by Caljax via Citysearch on 12/28/2011

That's a double negative. ("YOU'RE a double negative" --Crazy Stupid Love) I rarely use double negatives, but I am making an exception here. I have never had a bad time or a bad meal at Laurel Tavern. Eric the bartender/manager is…

Fun Night out by Elise K via Insider Pages on 5/31/2010

This is probably the hottest spot in the valley right now. There is always a line to get in. They have awesome beers on tap and they also have a full bar, so it takes care of all you're drinking needs. The food is tasty, but it only caters…

Love this place by imfabulous via Citysearch on 4/13/2010

The atmosphere here is awesome. The staff is friendly and the drinks are made well. Although, get there early it gets pretty packed in there. The is also outside seating and open exposed windows which is fun.

Awesome porkfat fries by CSMobileUser via Citysearch on 2/9/2010

Cool spot to have drinks and good fries. Weekends tends to get to crowded and might have a wait to get in. Not worth the wait if there's a line. Needs good music...

Cool spot, but is the line necessary? by feedthebaby via Citysearch on 1/1/2010

My friend has been raving about this place so we all decided to get together for a pre New Year's outing. Everyone else was already there and got a table for our party of 8. Me and my bf got there about 10 min late. My friend came outside…

Not much of a Tavern Lately by victorprock via Citysearch on 11/4/2009

This place used to be great! Now it's terrible. The food is fine/satisfactory and I have no complaints about the beer. However, it seems this place has made the attempt to create a "club" type business. A waiting line outside, when there…

Sage Beer & Crab Cakes by RPardess via Citysearch on 9/2/2009

This place is very pleasant. Nice lighting, fantastic food and a huge selection of beer and wine. They have a sage microbrew, which is delicious, and a wonderful and original spin on the classic grilled cheese sandwich.\r \r The crowd is a…

Best Grilled Artichoke in Town and Great Mussels! by yardsusa via Citysearch on 7/11/2009

the place feels like a trendy NY pub but upscale, light wood, industrial steel throughout -- not fancy but warm and trendy looking. the windows that face ventura blvd open all the way so you kind of feel like you're in an indoor/outdoor…

Get the STEAK FRIES IN PORK FAT! by nkh via Citysearch on 4/30/2009

This place is almost perfect - nary a Bud or Miller to be found on the beer list, and the steak fries with pork fat are beyond amazing. A friend of mine said they served the best grilled artichoke she'd EVER had. Sadly, I've ordered…

Always a Good Time by 123itstrue via Citysearch on 4/17/2009

I was looking forward to trying this place due to its large beer selection and promises of burgers. When I walked up and saw the doorman reading Jules Verne I knew this place would become a regular haunt for me as we had an actual…

We are all here to make the bouncers job easier!!!! by ShermanOak via Citysearch on 12/30/2008

Went there last Saturday night...waited outside in the freezing cold for no apparent reason other then to create a line outside the place...once we got to the bouncer he decide to tell us the following "Hey guys, just so you know we have…

Nice place but what is up with the line by bacixo via Citysearch on 11/16/2008

Checked out this place last nite. Overall I liked it. Nice ambience and crowd. They had doormen who made people wait tho, which I thought was really unnecessary. It was not THAT crowded. Nice addition to the Valley and alternative to…

And the 3rd place ribbon goes to..... by surfz247 via Citysearch on 11/8/2008

For those of you that know Father's Office or York in Eagle Rock, this place would be considered the little brother. It's a direct copy. They have 16 Micro Brews on tap, but the selection they have obviously was chosen by someone with…

This open-air, rustic pub from the people behind Library Bar and Silver Lake's 4100 Bar offers 16 beers on tap and a smorgasboard of eats ranging from burgers to fondue. by Matthew Allard via Citysearch on 11/5/2008

In Short
A gastropub for the drinking foodie in us all, this classic tavern feels a helluva lot like "Cheers" might have if it'd been set two decades later. Exposed brick walls, wood plank ceilings, warm lighting and chopping…

Studio City gastropub from the team behind Library Bar and the Chalet offers a full bar and lengthy beer list, along with a house specialties bites like the warm pork belly sandwich and a hickory burger.

Cozy Club by Stacie L via Insider Pages on 8/7/2006

This little local hangout is quite a cozy club - some great seating at the bar or on the couches along the wall - great drinks, reasonable prices and a juke box so you call the tunes and it's not too loud to have a conversation - one of…

cool bar, cool interior, reasonable drink prices by Christopher E via Insider Pages on 9/21/2005

Compared to Clear right down the street this bar is world class. It's low lit, but very comfy complete with fireplaces and soft billowy couches. It doesn't try to be hip, it just is. It can get busy at night and the drinks are not cheap,…
