With brightly painted murals, tropical plants and a frisky, young crowd, this casual Cuban restaurant is the perfect spot to share a pitcher of house-made, fruit-laden sangria and a big hot bowl of queso fundido. Salads here are generous… Read Full Editorial

My Review by red jackb via Citysearch on 2/18/2013

Great Cuban sandwich, rice, black beans. Service was only OK. Restaurant was busy, always a good sign. Parking is very limited. It's a small place, not fancy at all. Go for the food, not the atmosphere.

We felt like we were an inconvenience.... by ameeanjel via Citysearch on 1/23/2011

The food here was pretty good, but the staff here is not friendly at all. I kind of felt like we were inconveniencing them by being there. We are not demanding customers at all. I am always nice and appreciative to anyone who is waiting on…

yummy queso by haiku8 via Citysearch on 8/28/2009

I love the queso dip here. Also the grilled chicken salad is amazing- so fresh! the only down side is i always eat the entire bowl! also- the restaurant can get noisy

Extremely unhappy with service by CSMobileUser via Citysearch on 6/15/2009

Good evening, I frequent your restaurant regularly when I am in town. I am usually happy with the service as well as the food work with CBS television out of New York and was excited to take my sister to your establishment for a relaxing…

Best Cuban/Mexican in Atlanta by M.A. W via Insider Pages on 4/25/2009

Their salsa is what other salsas wish they could be. If you don't like cilantro, though, you may not agree. I've had most things on the menu and it's all fantastic for vegetarians and meat eaters too. Everything is so reasonably priced.…

Great food at a great price by sam g via Insider Pages on 11/24/2008

For a quick, always good, inexpensive Mexican meal, you can't beat La Fonda Latina. Salsa is perfectly spicy, not too much of anything, and the quesadillas can't be beat.

Fine food by Ashley L via Insider Pages on 11/6/2008

The food was what I expected. There was nothing wrong with it, but it was just average. I guess from what everyone said I thought it would be great. You do have your choice of many types of Latin American food. There is outdoor…

great paella by PrinceDiana via Citysearch on 7/7/2008

great paella at a reasonable price. outdoor patio is perfect for summer days and nights, great social place.

Good lunch spot by Tanya T via Insider Pages on 6/5/2008

I eat here regularly for lunch for its speedy service, choice of outdoor, indoor, or partially outdoor (covered roof) seating. The food is good Cuban fare - I like the vegetarian paella, the quesadillas, and especially the Cuban…

the best by fancyxamy via Citysearch on 5/26/2008

i go to la fonda at least 2 times a week. yes, youre going to get minimal smiling or conversation from the staff, but you will be hard pressed to find faster service anywhere else. due to the presence of a bunch of food runners, your…

veggie friendly by meriamss via Citysearch on 11/19/2007

We ordered the vegetable skewers and veggie burrito. Both excellent, very well seasoned and cooked crispy. We got a mojito pitcher, which was very sweet but savory, especially for the price. The service was decent, but it seemed as though…

!!!The best steak quesadillas this side of the border!!! by fardoo via Citysearch on 9/11/2007

I eat there at least 6 times a week... The greasy steak quesadilla is to die for... Chips are okay, salsa is good.

good food - but not worth the rude staff and terrible service by foodcriticdtown via Citysearch on 5/23/2007

The food here is good - no denial there. HOWEVER I have never been as infuriated when leaving a restaurant as I was after my experience at LaFonda. My friends and I went to LaFonda for dinner and drinks. Once we finally found a table -…

Look for low-stakes, low-priced Latin-American fare at this colorful neighborhood cantina. by Contributor via Citysearch on 12/20/2006

The Scene
La Fonda's five intown restaurants evoke a carnival mood with brightly painted furniture and walls. Spanish tunes are suitably bouncy and loud, but you needn't shout to be heard. At the Ponce location, industrial chic…

Great Paella! (But Not Much Else) by dseijuro via Citysearch on 12/27/2005

I would not order anything but their seafood paella, which is superlative especially consider how cheap it is. The salsa is also way above average, but everything else is mediocre at best--I was served stale iced tea the first time I ate…

Oddly disappointing by chickybird via Citysearch on 6/3/2005

My husband and I went for dinner last night because he had been there for lunch and liked it. We both ordered chicken tacos, which is what he had ordered before. When they arrived they were not at all what we were expecting. They contained…

Fast and Thrifty Cuban by Serge_Turtle via Citysearch on 2/11/2003

This is a great place to eat if you are in a hurry. Try the items prepared off the grill, the quesadillas and the delicous poor-man's dishes like Paella and Arroz con Pollo.

Consistent & Convenient by jauster via Citysearch on 10/28/2002

La Fonda isn't going to win any major awards for their food, but it provides confort food for a reasonable price. The place is usually busy, but I have never waited for a table. I enjoy the fried plantains & the chicken cheese…

Top of Ponce by erinbehan_citysearch via Citysearch on 5/21/2002

Catch a summer breeze on the Ponce La Fonda's upper deck (or lower patio). La Fonda's salsa comes quick and always tastes fresh. One of my favorite dishes, the fish tacos, always arrive hot, with crispy, crunchy fish nestled inside.…
