Bloomingdale Public Library is in Bloomingdale, IL and also serves the West Suburbs of Chicago. They opened in 1974 and progressed from two trailers to a state-of-the-art facility. For residents of the area, a library card is free. They have a staff of over 60 and are open seven days a week for most of the year. The library serves all ages, from small children to older adults. In addition to the obvious offering of all types of books, the library offers so much more.

Some of the many offerings of the library include:

Computer access onsite and free online computer classes
Free film screenings for teens several times a year
Ability to download audio books and e-books
Free monthly email newsletter
Check out of free Museum Adventure passes sponsored by Macy's
Tax and employment resources
AV equipment and a large selection of DVDs, music CDs, video games and computer software
