Very Rude People by Nancyrich via Citysearch on 11/20/2009
The restaurant is not customer oriented. They feel that is okay for them to get the to go order wrong consistently!! INSTEAD OF APOLOGIZING TO THE CUSTOMER, THEY COMPLAIN!!
Worst service less than average sushi by EMoer via Citysearch on 9/20/2008
BAD service. C'mon, if the food is just below average, at least be nice! Not recommended. Go to Akira at 1137 Greenleaf Ave instead - uncomparable food and service.\r

Sushi is average by jefftolt via Citysearch on 3/11/2008
Sushi here is OK, nothing great. The Chicken Terriaki dishes are just average. I have had much better tasting at other Japanese restaurants. If you really like Japanese food better place is Sunshine Cafe on Clark in Chicago.
HORRIBLE Sushi!!!! by Micki77 via Citysearch on 2/20/2008
This place is a health code violation in waiting!!!! I have now gotten sick from Akai Hana twice!!! The first time I thought it was just the flu, but by the second time I wised up. I have been coming to this restaurant for years, and…
BEST in the North Shore!!! by vegitoboi via Citysearch on 7/16/2007
I remember when my aunt took me here for the first time for my first sushi experience. This was back in the fall of 96 and close to 11 years later I still go here for those occational cravings for sushi and salmon teriyaki. One of the…

Authentic it's not, but if you're looking for good Japanese-ish food at a good price, this is a good place.
Good food-horrible service! by sw1 via Citysearch on 11/27/2005
Consistently bad service. The staff could not care less about you. They are constantly running away from customers as soon as order is placed. It is too bad that this restaurant does not seem to care about service at all. Customers should…

Good grocery store. They seem to carry everything here. I like shopping here because they have the store set up real nicely and I can find my way around everywhere easily.

Not much for atmosphere by suecurry via Citysearch on 1/5/2003
TV is always on. Sushi chefs are not Japanese. Diner-like atmosphere. Food is good. Prices are OK. Lots of families. Friendly.

Economical and high quality by jkf118 via Citysearch on 8/15/2002
I went here for lunch after seeing that Akai Hana has the highest rating for food on Zagat and was not disappointed. The quality of the fish for the price paid was outstanding, and the restaurant is nicely tucked back in the corner so it…
