Situated on Main Street between Ann Taylor Loft and Dunn Brothers in Maple Grove, Sawatdee Thai Restaurant offers a contemporary dining environment tailored to the tastes of the Northwestern Suburbs. Serving award-winning Thai cuisine since 1983, Minnesotans were intrigued by the sweet, sour, bitter and salty taste combinations found in authentic Thai cooking and cuisine. Over thirty years and six locations later, Sawatdee has become a Twin Cities favorite. Each location offers slightly different menus to reflect the preferences of people in each area, but all who dine at are celebrities and are treated with love, respect, and peace.

Enjoy a great daily Happy Hour from 4-6pm and late night from 9-10pm Fridays and Saturdays as well as Live Music Thursday - Saturday nights. Be sure to order some fresh sushi and other Japanese favorites from our sister restaurant, Zushiya, located within Sawatdee. Sawatdee also offers complete full service catering to the greater Twin Cities area including weddings, graduations, parties and more. Stop by our Maple Grove location today or visit www.sawatdee.com for more information.

LOOOOOVE the coconut curry salmon and I can't get enough of it. Plus, Sawatdee can make food as spicy as...

Horrible Experience by vegetarianreviewer via Citysearch on 12/4/2011

Sawatdee's in Maple Grove was my worst dining experience, and is a place to which I will never return. First of all, the customer service was very bad. After ordering, we had to wait for over an hour for our food. At one point, I had…

Great Experience by ssn708 via Citysearch on 10/17/2011

I had not liked any other Sawatdee after my first experience with the main restaurant on Washington in Minneapolis. I had been to three other Sawatdees and not been impressed. Today was different. I went to the one in Maple Grove for the…

Don't Bother by East Coast Doug via Citysearch on 6/17/2011

Ordered a $8.95 lunch special. \r \r A Thai Noodle Curry with Chicken, tomatoes, mushroom, etc. It took 15 minutes to get served. What I got was a rectangular plate piled high with greasy noodles, one wedge of tomato, and about 2 oz of…

Something for everyone by Sarah H via Insider Pages on 5/3/2010

Great spot to eat in the Arbor Lakes area. The food is wonderful and the service is quick. They have something for everyone, even if you are not a big fan of Thai food.

Great spicy dishes! by Molly D via Insider Pages on 1/23/2010

Nice atmosphere and decent food! The spicy rating scale was just about right. I like a Thai restaurant that delivers on the spicy food!

Tasty food with lackluster service by Wes A via Insider Pages on 1/2/2010

Excellent tom yum soup. The restaurant was quiet the night I went and yet the wait staff seemed totally unprepared for a takeout order. In fact, they didn't have any plastic utensils to give me so I had to drink the hot soup straight out…

Waste of $ by Kalayaan via Citysearch on 11/17/2008

I decided to come here Sunday night with the family around 5:00 pm, we were the first table seated but the last served, the service is terrible. My parents ordered Pad Tahi and some noodle dish and both were disappointed in the taste. My…

Terrible service and food not much better by niterunner via Citysearch on 11/16/2008

Decided to try Thai food, so off to Sawatdee. Got there about 5 PM on Sunday. Sat at booth with no napkins/silverware/plates. Waitress come to take order. Noticed music too loud. Got our drinks. Had to get our own setting from another…

Used to be good, not so much now by kennyfriedman via Citysearch on 6/2/2007

I have been there twice in the last month. The first time they screwed up my order royally. i sent it back and didn't get a replacement for about 20 minutes. Oh and the pad thai was so sub-par I wouldn't even call it pad thai. The second…

Not so hot! by rms17xa via Citysearch on 1/8/2007

I love Sawatdee, but not the Maple Grove location! The service is bad, and the food is really bad... including the fact that they have no idea how to get the spice levels correct. One time I called for a to-go order and asked for it spicy…

This place is terrible. The service was awful, she never came back. The food is average. Nothing to brag about here.

Worst Thai Restaurant Yet by akayang via Citysearch on 8/10/2006

I dined here a few years ago and thought the food was pretty decent so I came back about a year later (2006) and had the worst Thai food I've ever tasted and we were not seated until after several minutes even when it was more than half…

Aloof and unaccommodating by trinafish via Citysearch on 7/9/2006

I had the worst Thai experience at the Maple Grove location. When the food arrived much spicer than anticipated, our waitress was very defensive and unsympathetic. We were very good sports about the whole thing untill we got the bill and…

Yeah by melanieepp via Citysearch on 1/29/2004

I had tried Thai food in Ireland and really liked it, but didn't know where to go in the Twin Cities to eat it. We choose Sawatdee in Maple Grove. They were very helpful when it came to explaining the items on the menu. The food was…

Good food by foodie2003x via Citysearch on 12/26/2003

Nice decor, the bar side has a big TV. Try the Thai tea - spiced ice tea with sweetened milk, kinda like Chai tea. My husband had the salad with beef tenderloin - excellent for a summer day. I had the dish with a garlic sauce, recommended…
