R. MICHAEL MUNDEN

R. Michael Munden, Esq.Mike is a tax attorney who has been practicing in Myrtle Beach since 1978. Mike also holds the CPA (not actively practicing), ChFC and CLU designations, and is a frequent speaker on tax, estate planning, probate and retirement plan topics. Mike is also a lecturer in the Coastal Carolina Master of Accountancy Program and undergraduate accounting program, teaching Estate and Gift Tax, Law for Accountants, Taxation of Pass-through Entities, and Financial and Managerial Accounting. He is a member of the Horry County and American Bar Associations, the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and is a long time member of the Planning Board and Faculty of the annual University of South Carolina Retirement and Benefits Management Seminar, USCs longest running seminar. Mike currently serves on the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Tax Council, and is a past Chairman of the SC Bar Probate, Estate Planning and Trusts Section Council. He also is currently Chair of the Coastal Planned Giving Advisory Council at Coastal Carolina University. Mike is a 2nd Degree Black Belt in karate and a certified PADI Divemaster. Cassandra Painter, Esq.Cassandra Painter has worked at this firm since 2008. She works primarily in the estate planning, elder law, and probate area. She also has experience with tax and business issues. She attended Coastal Carolina University and received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in Accounting in 2005. She attained her Juris Doctor degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2008. Cassandra was licensed to practice law in South Carolina in May 26, 2009. She attended Coastal Carolina University and received her Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree in 2011. She attained her Masters of Law in Taxation (LL.M) degree from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2012. She attained her Masters of Law in Estate Planning and Elder Law (LL.M) degree from Western New England University School of Law in 2015. She is a member of the Grand Strand Area Estate Planning Council, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the South Carolina Chapter of NAELA, the Horry County Bar Association, Elder Law Committee of the South Carolina Bar , the Tax Law Section of the South Carolina Bar, and the Probate, Estate Planning, and Trust Section of the South Carolina Bar. Kelly Turek, Esq.Kelly Turek, Esq. has been working at R. Michael Munden, Esq., P.A. since February 2014. She focuses primarily on federal, individual, corporate, and partnership tax issues. She also has experience in the areas of contracts, criminal, evidence, wills and trusts, property and bankruptcy law. She received her bachelors degree from Wofford College in 2009 and her Juris Doctor from Charleston School of Law in 2012. She then received her masters degree (LL.M.) in taxation from the University of Washington. Ms. Turek is currently authorized to practice law in South Carolina and Georgia.
