My Review by chryssyt via Citysearch on 1/26/2013

Treat special need customers with some damn respect! I have never been more disgusted to hear that not only were the employees at this restaurant rude because my girlfriends son was in a wheelchair but the z,anger was even more…

great food and awesome happy hour prices by jfromtheb via Citysearch on 1/24/2011

All but one experience here was excellent and I am willing to go ahead and call the one bad time a total fluke. Been going here for 6 years and take all of my out of town guests here if we're looking for a good dinner out. Love the…

Great pasta and salads by Guest G. via Judy's Book on 6/19/2009

We frequently get Varlamos take-out for dinner, and one order of pasta is plenty to share. It comes with garlic bread and salad, and is a great value. The Penne Gorgonzola with walnuts and artichoke hearts is my favorite. Nice for dine in…

Football-sized calzone by Kristi V via Insider Pages on 6/22/2008

When I ordered calzone at Varlamos I had no idea that it would be the size of a football. For less than $10 I had salad and a giant calzone filled with ricotta, spinach, garlic, red peppers and mozzarella. It is easy to find just what you…

Football Sized Calzones- Awesome! by xjems via Citysearch on 2/5/2007

Their calzones, which are literally footbal sized and served with a side salad for under $10, are hard to beat. On Mondays they have a special and the Calzone is only 5.95, but it is quite busy and getting them can take up to 20 mins…

pretty good by emilyok via Citysearch on 1/22/2007

The calzones are good, and so is the grilled chicken salad (tons of chicken!). I rarely eat in though, because of the powerful aroma of old bleach buckets wafting through the dining room. I prefer to get take-out. Other people don't…

Best Place On Earth by Krystle W. via Judy's Book on 12/11/2006

I prob eat at Varlamo's twice a week. They have the best pasta and calzones and pizza. The service is very friendly and they all work really hard. Especially if you are lucky enough to get Chelsea. She is very outgoing and makes great…

Varlamos Pizzeria, So-So by Danielle Y. via Judy's Book on 4/10/2006

Ok, it is true, by the time we got there, got seated, ordered and got food, I was starving and therefore, I ate well. But as far as pizza goes, Varlamos wasn't fantastic. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy going there, but I am not sure…

Go for the calzone by Starving UW S. via Judy's Book on 4/4/2006

While the pizzas could use a bit of improving at this local pizzeria, it is their massive calzones that stand alone. Pre-dinner salads are available free of charge before your meal, but my advice would be to skip on the ranch-spilled salad…

My all-time favorite pizza! by Jennifer S via Insider Pages on 2/11/2006

Most of the time I get their pizza to go, but sometimes I do sit in. They remodeled not too long ago to add on an additional room. It's a real neighborhood place. Families eating dinner and college kids from nearby UW. Like I said, I love…

Varlamos Pizzeria by Aaron R. via Judy's Book on 7/25/2005

This restaurant is hit and miss. Their Calzones are quite good and come in huge sizes at a reasonable price. You also get the option to choose your toppings. The Pizza has a nice crust, but last time I had it it was fairly tasteless. …

Great Family Place! by Kristi L. via Judy's Book on 4/29/2005

Varlamos is a great neighborhood location for families of all ages. As a mom of a toddler, it's great to have all of the TV's and fans on the ceiling to entertain our little one while Mom and Dad actually get to eat. Decent salads, great…

Favorite Neighborhood Family-Owned Restaurant by Ari R. via Judy's Book on 4/21/2005

Varlamos Pizzeria offes a variety of pizzas, pastas and football-sized calzones! It's a favorite neighborhood restaurant for the surrounding Laurelhurst and SandPoint areas. Prices are very reasonable and entrees include a fresh dinner…

Wonderful Neighboorhood Joint by uwsid via Citysearch on 1/7/2003

I love Varlamos ... I've never had anything I didn't like there, and I've had most things on the menu. Plus, they'll make anything you like if they have the ingredients. My picks: chicken salad, mini-pizza, calzones ... great place!
