T and G is a roofing company specializing in commercial and Single Ply roofing. The company was founded in 1982 by Owner and CEO Tommy Scherer. Tommy started roofing in the mid 70’s and quickly learned and became adept at all forms of roofing, tile, shake, bitumen, torch down, shingles, etc.
He decided to start his own company to put his experience and know how at the forefront so he could control all aspects of the job and make sure his customers were taken care of. T and G quickly went from a couple employees to several crews and began taking on larger and more complicated jobs.
T and G started doing more commercial work and was a master at Torch down and Hot Mop installations. In the late 90’s Tommy and team installed a new hot tar roof on the entire West Chester High School, a multi-million dollar project. The project was completed to incredible results. The success at T and G has always been putting its customers first and installing the best quality roofs we possibly can that last.
Around 2005 Tommy was introduced to a new type of commercial roofing called “Single-Ply”. This line of roofing has two primary types TPO and PVC. Tommy was skeptical at first. In 2005 he flew to northern California to do a roof inspection on a huge warehouse, the building had single ply roof on it for over 10 years and was in great condition. T and G started installing them shortly after and noted the numerous advantages both in the installation process and for the customer.
The single ply was lighter, more environmentally friendly, easier and smoother to install without the dangers associated with torch roofing and most importantly it lasted longer. We developed a partnership with Versico Corporation a subsidiary of Carlisle Syntech one of the largest Single Ply manufacturers. T and G took the required classes to become approved Single Ply applicators with Versico and have focused on being the best single ply installers in Los Angeles since.
Today T and G prides itself in offering the best commercial flat roof available in the LA and Central Florida areas, we also offer repair services, roof reports and installation of most other common roof types.
