1948 – It All Began with Gutters

In 1948, Claude Tomlinson and his father founded a gutter business in Iowa City. For almost 40 years, they provided the residents of Iowa City with top-notch gutter services that protected their homes and businesses from rain.

1980s – Beyond Gutters

Tom and Sue Cannon purchased the gutter company from Claude Tomlinson in 1985. Throughout the remainder of the decade, they added a Cedar Rapids branch to the business and began their basement waterproofing division.

1990s – Rapid Expansion

Tomlinson Cannon expanded quickly in the 1990s through adding locations and service divisions, including basement wall anchoring, concrete sawing and core drilling, and mudjacking.

2000s – Steady Growth

Today, Tomlinson Cannon continues its growth in all divisions, and employs over 35 associates. We’ve now expanded to Waterloo and the Quad Cities, and have the ability to work all along the I-380 Corridor.
