Redfield Martial Arts

Involved in the martial arts for over 40 years.
Master Redfield’s training began in the early seventies with
Samurai Judo under Sensei Vincent Urson, He began training
inTang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan under Master Joseph DeVita in
1985 in Greenwich CT. After College When his instructors left
the Moo Duk Kwan and formed the Mi Guk Kwan in 1995, He
continued training and teaching Tang Soo Do under Master
John McGuiness in Stamford CT. After Master Redfield moved
to North Carolina 2006 he remained with the Tang Soo Do Mi
Guk Kwan and was elected to the Board of Directors, and acted
as Regional Director for Region 3 which covered the Virginias
North/South Carolina & Georgia.
In 2018 he resigned from the Mi Guk Kwan and formed the
Red Dragon Tang Soo Do School blending his Tang Soo Do
with Hapkido, Judo and Force necessary combatives. Master
Redfield is an Internationally Certified 6th Degree Black Belt
and also holds a 4th Degree Black Belt in Hapkido with WTHF
where he recieved his training under Master Art St. Armand of
Darien Connecticut, as well as holding a Basic Knife Instructer
Certification in Force Necessary Combatives, andalso trains in
Black Tiger Kali with Punong Guro Harold Evans. Master
Redfield is also a practitioner of The Usui System of Reiki and
has reached Master Level under Master Rena Couples and
Master Martin Lee.
An Avid tournament competitor, Master Redfield has travelled
the U.S. Europe and the UK competing in State, Regional,
National and International events where he has taken over 300
medals and trophies. With over 40 years in various martial arts
and well over 20 years teaching experience Master Redfield is
