Michael C. Geraci Jr., MD has devoted his medical career to the study and treatment of spine and joint problems, taking a medical approach to avoid surgery. At Geraci Spine and Sports Medicine in Williamsville, New York, also serving the greater Buffalo area, Dr. Geraci brings over 30 years of experience helping his patients find long-lasting solutions for back, neck, shoulder, hip, and knee pain.
Dr. Geraci is a board-certified fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, with a subspecialty board certification in Sports Medicine.
After earning bachelor’s degrees in business and physical therapy, Dr. Geraci received his medical degree from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara in Mexico in 1983. Dr. Geraci went on to train and complete his residency at the SUNY at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences from 1984 to 1988.
Before opening his private practice, Dr. Geraci was the Sports Medicine and Fellowship Program Director at Buffalo Spine & Sports Institute, P.C., which he co-founded in 1991.
Currently, Dr. Geraci serves as a clinical associate professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at SUNY at Buffalo and Michigan State University, College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Geraci is also affiliated with the North American Spine Society (NASS), Spine Intervention Society, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, and the American College of Sports Medicine. He's also the co-chair of the annual NASS Evidence and Technology Spine Summit.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Geraci has devoted much of his time to education, including training 24 fellows in spine care, sports medicine, manual medicine/exercise, diagnostic ultrasound, and fluoroscopically guided injections since 1992. He’s also the author of over 20 articles and book chapters, and he’s currently involved in research and teaching in the fields of functional exercise and regenerative medicine in the shoulder, knee, hip joint, and lumbar discs.
