Steven and Nikki are young entrepreneurs that have been life time junkers. Whether it be an antique store, big box thrift store, mom and pop shop in the foot hills, or best yet....a good ol’ fashion YARD SALE....they’re game! The Watson’s, without two nickels to rub together, started their business from home, right out of the garage. The two became a very well known weekly yard sale spot in the Greenbrier area. When a weekend passed that the couple were not having a yard sale they had many knocks on the front door asking when they planned to have their next sale. With over 100 people passing through their sale on any given weekend they joked about leasing a location they had passed a few weeks in a row as they did some of their own shopping. Steven was 5 weeks out of a major back surgery and Nikki was 5 months pregnant. There were a few family and friends that offered the advise to wait and let life settle down before diving into such a serious commitment. After a few prayers, long conversations, and a couple phone calls Steven and Nikki’s vision for The Yard Sale Store and More was conceived and built from the ground up.
Steven and Nikki opened the shop 3 years ago in hopes to build a clean and better organized specialty thrift store right here in Chesapeake VA. Only a few short months after the doors opened the curb appeal as well as the merchandise began to transform in the direction to what most weekly customers love it as today; a local family owned small business that updates, transforms, and grows every week! One customer stated it best, “You guys are like a small antique mall and Cracker Barrel on steroids!” (minus the food) Steven and Nikki buy out right all of the items they carry. The store does not do consignment and does not carry vendors. The 3000 sq. ft. location is packed out with 1000’s of treasures Steven and Nikki have personally hand selected. It is a task in and of itself to keep this kind of inventory stocked and rotating on a weekly and monthly basis, but somehow they manage to come through over and over again. Their goal is to grow deep healthy roots right here in Great Bridge where the couple are both semi long time locals.

We want to thank everyone that has been a part of this journey that has turned into a passion and career for us both. We work hard to find and sell quality pieces at very competitive prices. Outside of the gently used furniture that we carry a surplus of year round, we also carry a little bit of anything else that you could possibly think of at any given time. There is no rhyme or reason, and we never know what may walk through the door next! We love the idea of putting money back into the community’s pocket as we buy items from individuals in the area daily.
