Graduating from the University of Chicago with her medical degree, Dr. Child went on to work as a clinical pediatric instructor for medical students and pediatric residents at both the University of Illinois in Chicago and the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado. She previously served as the chairperson of pediatrics at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage and as the elected secretary for the Alaska Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
