Dr. Erickson was born in Petersburg, AK and graduated from Lathrop High School in Fairbanks. He attended the University of Idaho graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1999. He attended Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, OR graduating with his dental degree in 2004.

Dr. Erickson worked for the SEARHC dental clinic in Juneau for several years, serving patients in Juneau, Hoonah, Pelican and Yakutat. He then entered into private practice part time as an associate for Dr. Edward McKrill in Juneau. In January of 2008, Dr. Erickson purchased the practice of Dr. McKrill and has been there since. He and his staff also started traveling to Skagway in March of 2010 to treat patients at the Dahl Memorial Clinic, and they continue that service to date.

Dr. Erickson is a member of the American Dental Association, Alaska Dental Society, Juneau Dental Society and the Academy of General Dentistry. In his free time, he enjoys all things outdoors around SE Alaska and spending time with his wife and two children.
