Hormones control nearly every body function, and an imbalance can cause extremely disruptive symptoms. At Southern Arizona Endocrine, Weight Loss, and Metabolism, Maris Batoon-Posadas, MD, is a board-certified endocrinologist and metabolism physician who has been in practice for 10 years. Dr. Maris helps patients from in and around Tucson, Arizona, restore their hormonal health and quality of life. 
As an endocrinologist, Dr. Maris diagnoses and treats the following disorders: Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, adrenal disorder, and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). She uses an evidence-based approach to treatment while still maintaining a personalized tailored approach geared toward the patient's individual needs.
Obesity is both a lifestyle and hormonal disorder and requires extensive hormonal lab work to evaluate for any underlying endocrine diseases prior to initiating therapy. Southern Arizona Endocrine, Weight Loss, and Metabolism is a strong advocate of that versus a "one size fits all" approach to weight loss.
