This restaurant is definitely recommended! by Laiba Jeffery on 11/24/2020

I enjoyed the family time that I had in this restaurant last week. It was also a good thing that I wasn't the only one who enjoyed the ambiance and the food because my husband and my kids surely did also. The service was served well, and we will definitely come back! This restaurant is definitely recommended! Thanks a lot, by the way!

Always Delicious by Lila Devine on 8/20/2020

Highly recommended restaurant! I saw your restaurant on the internet, and I felt it so interesting. I was feeling delighted that I found your place with the help of my cousin. When I reached your place, I was so surprised by what I saw. The dishes are so tasty, and that is perfect. Thank you so much! Five stars for you, guys!

The Scene
A well-dressed after-work crowd packs the noisy and festive bar area, while lively music plays over the happy din. Families and groups fill the banquettes around the large room, while the belly-baring youth sip… Read Full Editorial

Banderas - Loved IT!!! by ShariLipp via Citysearch on 5/23/2011

Our first time at Banderas this past week. Everything my friends said was true. The cornbread was amazing (and I don't normally like cornbread!). The salmon appy was so yummy. Free corkage and great service!!

Consistently good food and service ! by CDMResident via Citysearch on 10/23/2010

We're locals and eat here regularly. Here's the scoop - they don't take reservations and unless you get there shortly after they open, plan for a wait and it can be as long as an hour. Great news - they have a happening bar and a nice…

Awful value by FoodiefromLV via Citysearch on 7/7/2010

1/2 chicken is $17. For $24 you can have 1/4 chicken and two pcs of ribs. OR if you want to do takeout, you can get a whole chicken for $15. Does this make sense to anyone?

Hurried by CSMobileUser2 via Citysearch on 5/7/2010

Good food but we were pushed incessantly to get on with it and finish. Displeased major.

Take Out Might break you? by gizmogadget via Citysearch on 11/12/2009

Love/hate this place. example: tonight i will pick up dinner to go for 4. (1) Full cut chicken, (2) orders of ribs, and a few sides. $80 - $100? Dang. Sure glad i can afford it. Or for $30.00 I can do Baja Fresh. :) If you have not…

One of the best restaurants in CDM! Really great food, you can smell it from the street. Highly recommend it, you might have a wait, but it is worth it.

Horrible customer service by grubmang via Citysearch on 3/16/2009

Great place with great quality food however its not the only place in Newport Beach you can get good quality food plus customer service. The customer service was absolutely disgusting.

Great Experience!! by Snowci via Citysearch on 9/17/2008

My boyfriend and I had dinner there our last night in Newport Beach and it was one of the best resturants that we have been to. We went earlier in the day to put our name on the list since it was a Saturday night and when we arrived they…

Bandera restaurant by stacey f via Insider Pages on 9/11/2008

Wow! What great food and it's healthy for you too! The bar is beautiful and busy any day of the week. What great service they provide as well. Everyone is so nice and they're not chinsey with their food. I recommend this place to everyone!

This restaurant is run but the same people that run Houstons. Great spot for dinner/drinks. They don't take reservations and there is usually a wait Thursday - Sunday. Excellent sandwiches and salads. Great ambiance.

yummy food by Cara C via Insider Pages on 7/24/2008

This is a large restaurant/bar/hot spot, and gets very crowded. Waits can be long for a table or a stool at the bar, but it does have great food (Try the Macho salad, cornbread, salmon, banana cream pie) People at the bar seemed a wee…

Disappointing by gladys78 via Citysearch on 3/2/2008

Wait was longer than hostess told us. Long wait for service after we were seated. Food was bland and tasteless. For the price, there were no extras such as bread and service was poor. After an hour wait, it was disappointing.

not a fun ride by grrbear via Citysearch on 3/2/2008

After a longer wait than the hostess had estimated, we were seated at a nice booth for an equally long wait for service. This would have all been acceptable if the food had been as good as touted, but we found the chicken and lamb to be…

Over-Hyped by jscielc via Citysearch on 2/17/2008

Sat night at 7ish this place was packed with an hour and half wait. This has got to be some great chicken.....NOT!!!!!! I don't like to find under cooked chicken in my salad with a lot of grizzle. Ribs were good. Still not worth an…

AWFUL SERVICE - RESTAURANT MANAGER TODD by newportcoastlocal via Citysearch on 2/13/2008

If the restaurant manager Todd is such an awful and rude person, that goes to show the whole restaurant service as a whole. It was a disappointment to speak with him over the phone to make a dinner reservation for my husband's birthday. He…

Macho Salad is the best by ratzzz via Citysearch on 1/19/2008

Our family of four, loves this place. I do recommend that if possible you get there when they open ( I believe it's 4:30 ) because they get crowded right away. We literally plan the day we go...usually a Saturday and will get there…

Horrible customer service by ocrph via Citysearch on 1/13/2008

We waited 65 minutes for our table for 4 and when we got to the table, there were 2 place settings. We asked for 2 more place settings 3 times before it actually came to us. Our appetizer, the cornbread, came before the utensils came so we…

Plan to eat early by jvuylsteke via Citysearch on 3/2/2007

Every time I come to this restaurant it?s packed. The food is fantastic and I love the romantic atmosphere. My favorite dish is the house salad with croutons made of cornbread and the barbequed salmon. I would definitely save room for an…

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! by seanb81 via Citysearch on 2/20/2007

This location has gone severely downhill within the past year. A favorite among friends and I.... we will never return after our last experience. If you enjoy waiting double your quoted seating times, rude hostesses and mediocre food,…

Woodfired artichoke makes the drive worth it by queener99 via Citysearch on 8/1/2006

We make the drive from San Dimas twice a month for that incredible artichoke. It's served split and drizzled with just enough butter to dip it into. We also really enjoy the prime rib, the woodfired chicken and for dessert the banana cream…
