Terrible Contractor by S on 2/27/2025 I hired Kalabat Construction to repair a balcony deck for an apartment complex. After completing the work, a new law was introduced requiring balconies to be inspected by a third party. The subsequent inspection revealed a major issue where the balcony deck wasn’t properly installed resulting in water intrusion, damage, and mold which now will cost us thousands of dollars to remediate and fix. When Eric Kalabat was called out by our managers to review the damage his poor workmanship caused, he was uninterested in addressing the issue and asked questions about how the work was completed. I found this interesting because he completed the work and could not answer a basic question if flashing was installed to prevent water intrusion. I tried to personally reach out to Eric over the phone in a cordial manner to find mutual resolution on the issue. 1 minute into the call he hung up on me and that was the last time we heard from him despite repeated attempts to call, text, and email him. If you are looking for someone to run away, hide like a little boy, and take zero accountability when their poor workmanship is revealed, Eric is your guy.
