At The Natural Tooth, our philosophy is to preserve as much of your natural tooth as possible. Our philosophy comes from a holistic dentistry approach in that we see the mouth as an integrated part of the body and consider oral health problems as they relate to total body health. A healthy mouth leads to a healthy body. An unhealthy mouth will lead to an unhealthy body. Plaque and tarter buildup on your teeth can be an indicator of and increase your risk for plaque and tarter buildup in your arteries. The same bacteria associated with gum disease has been found in the hearts of patients with heart disease, in the brains of patients with Alzheimer’s disease, and in cancer cells of patients with pancreatic disease.
