Excellent spot for quality french food. by Ayomide Gutierrez on 12/16/2020

This restaurant has the best fish and chips in town! I am so satisfied! I am so happy I found this place. I will surely recommend this to everyone!

great service! by Abbey Haworth on 12/15/2020

Fantastic food. Fresh, clean, and unique. The breakfast options are great, the pastries are amazing, and the lattes are authentic. The workers are always nice, welcoming, and accommodating.

Excellent spot for quality french food. by Ellise Beard on 11/23/2020

I had an amazing experience at this establishment! Sally our connoisseur for our visit was phenomenal! Sally was extremely patient and provided an exceptional customer service experience. The food was exquisite and very fulfilling . I would highly recommend this establishment for good eats in a nice ambiance.

This Silver Lake landmark, with its ornate plaster ceiling and cozy booths, has been serving pretty decent traditional French fare for many years---escargots, moules mariniere, cote de veau, and roast pork loin with bordelaise. For… Read Full Editorial

My Review by dang171213520 via Citysearch on 6/5/2013

A famous old French restaurant that serves overpriced food but stiff drinks. The crowd is a mix of youth and experience, and there are multiple rooms where bands might be playing or banquets might be taking place.

Charming LA Staple by LaMaria via Citysearch on 5/26/2010

Good solid menu, knowledgable and affable staff. I have never had a problem with any waiter et nous avons bien mange!

OK for Vegans by Kathlene W via Insider Pages on 9/23/2008

I went here with people from work. There is valet parking so you can get in and out fast. There weren't a lot of options for a vegan. I ordered a salad, and it was OK.

Taix is History. A Horrible "dining" experience. Warning: Favoritism! by restaurantshatecutomers via Citysearch on 9/2/2008

When the waiter realized that we would not be overspending, his entire demeanor changed. He ignored us. He never came by to ask if everything was OK. No refils. When new customers came beside us, he dotted on them. The partialism was…

Old World Charm by sabrina j via Insider Pages on 7/20/2008

Upon entry you are transported to a by-gone era of classy over-stuffed leather seatting, linen covered tables and well trained waiters. Impressive atmosphere. Wonderful soups - and the serve generous portions. Good food. Traditional. …

Charming, Great Service, Dont mind the decor! by sheilatakeabow via Citysearch on 4/24/2008

I returned to Taix after a two year hiatus and was pleasantly suprized! They have changed a few menu items that made my night that much better!\r For starters the salads, the Blue Cheese used to be the same ole iceberg/carrot mix as the…

if your the la cookie cutter type-you wont appreciate the charm of this place by hillaryandjoe via Citysearch on 1/12/2008

Family Friendly Unpretentious French Country Food at it's Best by burbank_joe via Citysearch on 12/31/2007

I've been going to Taix for years and am amazed at how it can do so many things so well. I have always received the same excellent service whether in Jeans or Tux and can't imagine how badly I would have to behave to upset the friendly…

Make No Mistake - Taix is a Classic! by keithr76 via Citysearch on 9/9/2007

When you're tired of trendy, overpriced, overrated Fusion restaurants, go to Taix for a touch of class and for real French food. Taix is consistently delicious, friendly and a great value. The wine list is wonderful - something great on it…

Tres Chic by velvettouch via Citysearch on 8/1/2007

After my first time dining at Taix I had a very good experience. The food was delicious for the price and the desserts were killer. The wait staff was friendly and ultra accomodating for all needs, plus a lot of them have been working for…

Entrees are reliable/great, place is kinda cheesy by globalhobo07 via Citysearch on 4/30/2007

Like others, I feel the soup and salad is completely negligible and doesn't set good expectations. The layout is spacious, although it won't matter if you have noisy kids in the room, but the decor is on the old-fashioned/cheesy side. NOT…

BOGUS by krypto69 via Citysearch on 2/20/2007

This restaurant is a perfect example of what's wrong with most "institutions" in Los Angeles. This place just sucked. Food was comparable to "wedding food." Soup was cream based garbage I could've easily gotten from any banquet hall. …

Excellent food and best value in Los Angeles. by seanhelmi via Citysearch on 1/13/2007

I have been coming to Taix for 35 years. The restaurant has been in business for twice that long, which should tell you something. Food is always excellent and very large portions. Service is efficient. Prices are low by any measure. …

hasn't changed, anything by wandaknows via Citysearch on 1/8/2007

Echo Park's family-friendly French comfort destination--with moderate prices and a discounted wine list to match. by Contributor via Citysearch on 12/18/2006

The stately dining room is decorated like a fancy restaurant, with frosted glass and a faux tin ceiling, yet the moderately priced fare and abundant portions draw everyone from priests to Eastside hipsters. Traditional three-course dinners…
