To drink, the Goose offers wine, hard cider, and a good selection of beers on tap, including Guinness, Bass, and Anchor Steam. Sandwiches come hot off the grill, spilling over with roasted turkey or grilled chicken,… Read Full Editorial
Great place to watch a game; local institution by MAB via Citysearch on 11/19/2008
Great decision made in last few years to diversify the side dishes beyond deviled eggs. This is a great place to go with a group for a beer. Fond memories for me.
A top notch hamburger dive by Julie W via Insider Pages on 10/7/2007
Great burgers - especially the moon burger - mushrooms and swiss cheese at its finest. Great deviled eggs - always fresh and delicious. Informal and personal!

Great - super Casual by J -White 95B O via Insider Pages on 5/1/2006
This is sort of a college hang out, like the Oasis in Menlo Park, burgers, beer, peanuts on the floor. It is a fun and casual atmosphere. You can take the kids with you, probably older than toddler age, and just kick back.
best burgers and beer by E W. via Judy's Book on 12/2/2005

EXCEPTIONAL Deviled Eggs by bossdude via Citysearch on 10/31/2005
Deviled Eggs were AWESOME (partly cuz it's v spicy). Really really good. you HAVE TO get them ($1.25). Price was ok, burger + chips + soda + eggs ~ $10. The food came a bit slow though (>20 mins). Burgers were ok. (Get the Burger Italiano…

Glad the Goose is still around! Great beers! Tavern feel. Nothing foo-foo about it. I have loved going here, and probably won't stop. Great place.
Check it out or go back for more! by restaurantgrl via Citysearch on 10/10/2005
This place has been around for eternity. It is a local hang out for both neighbors and Stanford University students. Great place to go celebrate a victory after sports games, meets up with friends, hang with family, or just go for some…
Peanuts on the floor by Kerren B via Insider Pages on 9/4/2005
Classic dive bar: pool room, peanut shells on the floor, backyard patio. Everything you need to meet your unassuming friends. Don't expect great service.
great dive bar, but ... by Clint C via Insider Pages on 8/13/2005
for sporting events, leaves a lot to be desired if you want to watch the event. We went there for the NCAA finals, and they didn't even bother to fix the broken TV sets, so we had to watch the game on a small 13" screen hangning on the…
Dive bar at its best by Bethany P via Insider Pages on 6/13/2005
A bit of a hike from the Stanford campus but well worth the drive. Great for grabbing beer and burgers with friends. Order a bag of peanuts while you wait and put some quarters in the juke box-- it's high tech and offers a great selection.
Best Place EVER by SFguy via Citysearch on 4/9/2003
Quite possibly the best bar/restaurant I've ever been too. After coming to this bar since high-school and visiting bars across the US, there is no other bar that I would rather call home. From the Beer to CheeseBurger to the Deviled Egg,…

Cheeseburger, deviled eggs and fries makes for the perfect quick lunch. Always good and a fun environment. Even better with a brew after work.
