Brews We Like
The Cascade Amber is the most popular, and is quite good. The Alpine Gold ale is clean in both hop aroma and finish. Look for seasonal brews such as the strong IPA.

Kid Friendly Brew house by Kim M. via Judy's Book on 3/27/2012
Good burgers especially the Lamb burger and also enjoyed the micro brews. I liked that the noise volume was high enough that we didn't have to worry about the kids being loud.
Hangout with friends! by alfredjude15 via Citysearch on 8/24/2007
Awesome ambience, wonderful beer, good food, nice service, and a very nice place to relax with friends!
Good Beer & Bar Food Option by rogus via Citysearch on 8/24/2006
Tied House is good option for a place to go to after work with some friends. This is your typical MicroBrew place but the size of the place is huge. Their speciality is the Beer of course! And they do a good job on it. I would…
Bad food by B.R. M. via Judy's Book on 7/25/2006
Whenever I met my friend for lunch she would choose the Tied House because it was easy for kids to eat and/or a group. I've been there many times and each time I tried a different food and they were all bad. They do have a pretty good…
Great Beer by Blue 9 via Insider Pages on 5/13/2006
This is the fun place after work to meet friends and folks from work for a beer - and if you hang out for a while there is pleny of classic bar appetizers and good inexpensive food for dinner
Greasy food, good beer by s b. via Judy's Book on 5/1/2006
The Tied House Brewery is a fun place to hang out. The beer is good and the building itself has a nice atmosphere and is great for large groups. This would be a good place to go for happy hour. The food is not great though. It's either…
so-so on all fronts by M P via Insider Pages on 4/24/2006
The food is at best described as pub fare, which is to say you don't go there for the food. OK, so if you drink a lot, maybe it's worth hanging out there for the beer. Microbrew is ok not great, but not much choice around.
pub fare by rachel r. via Judy's Book on 3/21/2006
The Tied House Cafe & Brewery offers standard pub fare in a fun atmosphere. This is not a great place to be a vegetarian. Most people are here for the beer. I remember being slightly confused by the fact that they offer both fish &…
Good for small groups, average food by Jill B via Insider Pages on 3/10/2006
This is your typical microbrewery. The food's OK, but there are so many great restaurants in this area it's hard to come back to this one. I can see how it would be good for an after work get-together with co-workers. Casual atmosphere and…
go for the beer by Patricia W via Insider Pages on 3/8/2006
This is a popular brew pub with the usual overpriced burgers on the menu. There are a handful of other dishes as well, but of course the reason to come here is the beer. They also have cider and wine for those of us non-beer fans who…
Good beer, okay food by Heather C via Insider Pages on 3/8/2006
When I used to drink beer, I rather liked this place. Now I don't drink beer much and it's not really worth going for the food. It's a loud restaurant and the food is just so so. I think it's the kind of place that's best to go with a…
Great Beer by standupdouble via Citysearch on 12/8/2005
The beer at Tied House is some of the best micro brew anywhere. The food is only average.
Good booze by bayareaeaters via Citysearch on 11/5/2005
Go for the beer and not for the food. It's average, but a good time with large or small groups. (The onion rings are great!)
Tied House Mt View by Bob N via Insider Pages on 8/30/2005
One of many local brewery/restaurants that was probably one of the first in the area. They have a very large menu that should satisfy most tastes and twists on common dishes. My favorites are the smoked salmon fish and chips and the…
Good beer and atmosphere by Kim W. via Judy's Book on 8/26/2005
I've been here several times with friends and it is a nice atmosphere. The beers are also pretty good and the Tied House is a good location in downtown Mountain View. Other bars and restaurants are nearby but Tied House can be fun on a…
Tied House Mt View by Bob N. via Judy's Book on 8/18/2005
Another local brewery/restaurant that probably started it in this area. They have a very large menu that should satisfy all tastes. My favorites are the smoked salmon fish and chips and the multiple sausage plate (apparently missing from…
Great for HAppy Hour! by Sangita P. via Judy's Book on 8/11/2005
This is a great brewery to go for happy hour on a friday. It gets you in the mood for the weekend. The beer here is great. There is a back "beer garden" that is enclosed and has heat lamps. It's agreat palce for larger groups. I personally…
A solid brew-pub by Matt S via Insider Pages on 5/15/2005
The beer is fresh and got a bit of a nice tang to it. The food is good. Service is normally prompt. The ambience is relaxing. You occassionally get a seat in the boondocks if the place is crowded.
If Tied House were anywhere else,…
Great whenever you go.... by dreich1022 via Citysearch on 5/26/2004
The Tied House is a good bet, day or night. Nothing is better than The Tied House downtown San Jose on a Friday afternoon during the Farmers Market. The food is excellent, the beer is great and the people watching is priceless!
Decent beer by kkachanski via Citysearch on 3/24/2003
Very busy and crowded, but it def. adds to the overall feel of the place. Like the beer sampler.
